Looks like we're going to cop the Channel 7 treatment this Friday, with our game listed as being on a 3 hour delay - and absolutely no alternatives (i.e Fox).

Get on the phone, email, fax, petrol bomb, whatever to Channel 7 and make your voice heard to get the game on at 6:30.

BTW, the ratings argument doesn't work - the Weagles game rated a pathetic 166,000 - a good 40k less than their last FNF game (that wasn't on a 3 hour delay) - which was a home game and doesn't include another 40k at the game. The 3 hour delay probably cost 7 about 50,000 viewers each hour over the full 3 hours.

The AFL should really sort these ____ers out. If they aren't going to show it live, let Fox do it.

The Mustang Bar had something called a GWN box, which gave them GWN live, so when Ch 9 had the footy you could watch it live on a friday there. I don't know if they have something else now that Ch 7 has the footy.

I would also like to know of any pubs that can show it live SOR ???

I went out for the friday night game, seeing as the game wasnt on till i was meant to arrive back home again anyway. So i payed for access through the telstra next G service to get live score updates, quarter by quarter highlights etc. Match stats and stuff.

I could not access it.

All night.

The AFL website was down.

Not only are they crap at broadcasting responsibilities, but they're dodging on paid services.

p.s: Bummer about the delay, and hope your lot do well. Guess you'll just have to settle in for a night of, learning how to grow coriander the right way

Being a chef i never get home til 9- 9.30 so it doesn't bother me to much but the hassle of negotiating my way through a night at work trying not to let someone tell me the score or hearing an fm news update with the score or making sure i quickly turn off the car radio (cos its generaly on 6pr ) is problematic.

i still think that it stinks its not on live its disrespectful to the sport , i thought we're talking about a 100 million dollar a yr entity here also i thought the government passed a use it or lose it law in regards to tv and radio rights ,maybe it didn't differentiate live/delayed????anyone know about that

I couldn't believe it when they didn't show the WC game live. And I'm utterly gobsmacked they're not showing the Freo game live.

A majority of people (who wouldn't be able to watch it at 6.00) would more or less just listen to it on the radio. It's a shame I start work at 5.30 the next morning, would've loved to have gone to the Inglewood Hotel to watch it...

I would like 2 say if you live in Quensland ACT New South Wales and you go 2 518 on Foxtel every Friday night game is live. Now for Western Australia 2 get the game on channel 7 at 830PM for Perth teams got 2 be joking and you got 2 say 10 not much better 5PM for a Dockers game. I will say that not every one has Foxtel.

at least channel 9 gave us live footy on a sunday! now it's dam footy flash backs un til 3pm! channel seven are ____ed, we never get friday nights live here in mildura victoria, and channel 10 are delayed as well for about 1/2 hour on a saturday night! they used to be live! ____ the afl coverage, i listen to the radio!
