YOU IDIOT. Fages could get Washy to take kick outs, run past for easy handballs, one two’s and I’m sure could get him some acting lessons to flop around like a fish and ask him to constantly whinge to the umpires if he wanted that sort of player. Instead EEverytyI’m sure he is happy with a big game beast who performs when it matter

Everything about this post shows that you have not watched one Collingwood game

Maybe you can answer my question?

How many times have opposition coaches sent a tagger to WAshcroft?

I've seen it plenty of times with Neale, the last couple of years with McGluggage, and a few times this year with Rayner (including finals), but I can't seem to recall WAshcroft receiving similar attention.

Can you help me out?

Round 7, St Kilda sent Windhager to him. The only one I can find.

Hope this helps Mr Fradge.

So the cliff you're all talking about is in 2-5 years now?
i can't keep up, it was supposed to be 5 years ago.....now its in another two years or maybe 5.....but it'll happen!
Yep, it was meant to have arrived after the "fire sale" at the end of 2020, when the following were moved off the list in the one off-season.

Dayne Beams, Lynden Dunn, Tom Langdon, Tom Phillips, Ben Reid, Matthew Scharenberg, Jaidyn Stephenson, Adam Treloar, Travis Varcoe, Rupert Wills.

It was looking good for the "cliffers" as the Pies spluttered through the 2021 season, the Pies were going to be stuck in the bottom for many years according to the "cliffers".

Fast forward 4 years, and after 3 PFs and a premiership, the cliffers are back!

Really?

So when Hugh McGluggage was working through the Windhager tag, Windhager was really tagging WAshcroft?

Genius move from Ross The Boss!
Certainly doesn't seem like Washcroft was tagged in that game, but I can't be bothered watching it lol, I'm just going by the tagging stats.

Two time Norm smith medalist at 21. When the heat is on Will 'little maestro' Ashcroft is an absolute beast.

Why are you comparing the two lists?
The 2026 list is the oldest list in the AFL and all of those 30 plus plus players are entrenched best 18.

Could well happen this season.

Depends when those players mentioned stop performing.

I was being nice saying two years. The top 4 listed will definately be gone within 2 years.

There is being confident in your team, and plain stupid thinking players last forever and you can instantly replace the best straight away like for like. Especially the greatest club player of all time.

Enjoy you last few days on social media kid.

Pendlebury, Howe and Sidebottom will be gone in 2 years. But they aint what they use to be anyway and haven't been for 5 years.

The Pies 2020 list was also the oldest in the league...the same as 2025.

The players we moved on were all important players in our deep finals runs of 18-20.

We also forced out our best young player in Stephenson, a rising star, and the only u22 player on our 2020 list who had played 40 games.

The cliffers line back then was, we had no youth coming through, and we were too reliant on Pendles, Sidey and Howe (who we would also have to replace soon) who ain't going to get any better. It was rebuild time, as you missed the flag chance.

Pies were the furthest team from a flag in 2020 according to many experts - not good enough and poor youth. The cliffers were rejoicing.

2021 further validated their assumptions, the Pies were cooked and we also then had Mayne, Roughead, J.Thomas and Greenwood additional senior blokes who were also best 22 players in the finals runs of 18-20 finish up.

Pies had the worst u23 youth coming through of any team, it was going to be a world of pain as we needed to rebuild through the draft - hence the fox footy premiership window running with 2026-30 for the Pies at the end of 2021 season.

Hopefully you cliffers have got it right again 👍

Howe is injured more often than not, he may not even be best 23 in 2026!

But they offer so much leadership and guidance to our kids, effectively additional development coaches, whilst still being able to contribute on field.

Only idiotic clubs like North would move on champions like Booma Harvey, who were still playing quality football, to add another kid to the list.

But on bigfooty, moving on veterans for an unproven kid is the smart move, as the kid has potential.

Interesting debate, Ashcroft vs Daicos, we've seen them as opponents but we haven't seen Ashcroft in a lower side.

Really the only fair thing to do is trade him to a side that's fallen off the cliff, which according to several geniuses, is Collingwood in 2026.

Then I'm sure he'll prove what a star he is. Until then, how do we know he's not being carried by Raynor?

I'm 76, but thanks for calling me a kid!
"Could" happen this season.....is that the best you can do?

You weren't being nice....you were venting just like all the others who wish us harm and bad tidings. But to Collingwood folk that's just manna from heaven, we thrive on nay sayers and other clubs doubters (says a lot more about you than it does us)

Dunno anybody that thinks "players last forever" that's why us Collingwood people are enjoying watching the old blokes squeezing every last drop out of themselves before they head off to become coaching legends elsewhere.

You speak in "Coulds" and maybe's and predictions.....and you vent with all the bile of someone that's more than just a little upset by their own club's predicament, but that's OK...it's nothing we haven't heard before...and its coming at us continually from supporters of clubs that have been outside the finals for quite a while.

Our club has determined the best path for it to follow whilst we have the current crop of players (and coaches) and that's where we stand. I don't for the life of me know why people love to try and criticise the decisions of others when it has no bearing whatsoever on their own clubs and only serves to appear as whinging or trolling.
