Adelaide round 22, wakes booted the ball away froma one on one contest and it went out clement patted him on the back right as the ump called deliberate, we lost all moment. We didnt really deserve to win that game but i reckon we would of if that was adjudgfed properly

The umps absolutely shat themselves after the bump and used the whistle at every contest to try and keep a lid on what they thought may turn into a 30 minute melee. It was the most biased umpiring I have ever seen, after the bump, but what do you do? Insecure umpires should be counciled..then thrown to the crowd smothered in honey and beer.

The 2002 Grand Final umpiring is a case in point:

a) Rocca's point was a goal. I was right behind it (weren't we all?)

b) Lynch v Wakes in the final term. It was not a free. I remember that sinking feeling...the ball went inside 50m, McKee went up, I thought, here we go, we're safe now. Unfortunately not. Matthew James saw it incorrectly, even Wallsy agreed. Poor old Wakes. He was so brave and stoic that afternoon - isn't he always? Of course, v Brisbane in round 3 2004, there was NO free to Wakes when Lynch caved his jaw in! Or when he, literally, picked up Jason Cloke and carried him away from the ball...or his ridiculous acting in the second quarter of the 2002 GF. Gradually lost respect for him after 2002, culminating with his lovely work on GF day '04...

c) Taz v D.White. Oh no, he wasn't mauled, all fair, definitely.

Can we cite Clokey's suspension in 2002? Yes, reckless, and probably fair enough, but we're discussing a 19-y-o ball player, and a great, gutsy kid, too.

On the subject of tribunal decisions...

Tarrant v Trent Carroll, round 11 2004 - yeah, he struck him. Put a stop to our midseason momentum, too.

Phil Matera wasn't rubbed out for striking young Tarkyn in round 2, 2002, either.

I remember reading somewhere, that because J Cloke was suspended for the GF he was refused entry into the MCG (or he was asked to leave) to watch his brother Cameron (I think) play in his GF before our GF.

My mate, a life-long Pies supporter, maintains that most of the umpires hate Collingwood and give them a hard time. I haven't been watching games for long enough to form an opinion. Is there any truth in the allegation, or is it mere magpie paranoia?

What gets me p!ssed off is that we get a lot of the same umpires time and time again. To my knowledge umpires only umpire one game a week (correct me if I am wrong), so that means there must be at least 8 different combinations of umpires going around. Taking that into account on random probability, we shouldn't have the same umpire more than 3 times a year, yet this year I must have seen McClaren umpire us at least 5 or 6 times during the home and away season. Me and my mate curse everytime we see him umpire one of our games. The best thing Hird ever did was single him out.

Exactly, and we were on the right side of that a few times last season. We all forget those games!!...lol
