You can't take unfit players into a final.
Stevie J wasn't fit against us.
Hodge wasn't fit for the 2012 Grannie.
Whilst I'm leaning towards hoping he plays, I think if you "looked at his body" on the bench (and during the Phil Cleary interview just after he came off), he looked pretty out of breath and not overly match-fit. I think that's what people are concerned about.Sorry, but not playing Cyril on Saturday is unfathomable. The man is more than fit to play; don't be fooled by what the club is saying and how his hair looks. Look at his body: what does it tell you? It tells me he hasn't been fishing in the NT or playing Grand Theft Auto V these past three months.
The club has given his hamstring more than ample time to heal (and hopefully calcify), while designing a training regimen to preserve his strength and fitness base.
Sitting on top of all of this is the pain he would still feel over his performance in the 2012 GF. The 2013 flag was only partial atonement for him and his teammates. This is one of those rare opportunities for redemption, and Rioli is one of those rare players who has the power to just go out there and grab it.

Just TRAINED THE HOUSE DOWN!!!!!
BLOODY INCLUDE HIM HAWTHORN!!!!!!
I think the main problem with Cyril is that he himself doesn't trust his hammy. After watching most of training today, I'm less convinced than I was that he can play. During the game simulation work, he seemed to be at 85% effort at best when required to run. Very tough call, still think taking the pressure off Breust might be worth the risk of playing him as a permanent forward, but he seemed to be designated as a mid in the game practice today. My concern with him in the forward line is that if the opposition works out he is unwilling or unable to run at full pace, they'll be able to exploit it, and generate run out of defense via Cyril's direct opponent. Obviously the selection people have a lot more details on his condition than we do, so I'll be happy with any decision they make.

Yes and no, I see what you mean but Sydney generate their attack through Mal and Shaw so we don't want that happening with ease. We will be in a bad way if those 2 can link up out of defense. Bigger trouble than they would be in with a turn over I think. If they want to run off Cyril go for it![]()
Yesiree bob. A few big Cyril tackles early will make a difference. Who goes out though is still a tough one. I don't want to go with Simpkin out, he is too good as a subI really want to see some of Cyril's tackles in the GF... hard, fast and tough! smashes in and freaks everyone out!
Manic pressure like last years GF! we will win if we can do that again!
