Every now and then, some random idiot will visit the board trying to get a reaction by posting derogatory crap.

The best thing to do in this situation is report the post, let the mods deal with it, and generally ignore the idiot

The worst thing to do is to launch forth a tirade of abuse at the troll, as the most likely outcome will be earning yourself some infraction points

Abuse of other users is not tolerated, regardless of how they are conducting themselves

If they are breaking the rules they will be dealt with (help the mods out by reporting abusive and derogatory posts), but if you break the rules in response, you will be too

For what it's worth, I will be reviewing the board guidelines with the other mod and site admin soon, once complete I will repost the rules in their entireity

I have 17 infraction points, I got them all today so I think I will take your advice. I've been permanently banned from the eagles board but that doesn't bother me much.

When those points are lifted can I start threads again?

Yes, trolling on the Eagles board was probably not the best way to respond to the trolls here - you got hit with a double whammy over there

You should be able to view the expiry dates on your points in the "My Bigfooty" link

From what I can tell, provided you don't rack up any more points your yellow card should expire, and your normal posting priviliges should return about 8pm Sunday night (Nov 19)
