There is a bit of Hawthorn worship like they can do no wrong;
Sometimes I just like throwing in a bit of reminder, take nothing for granted.

Them, us, Carlton, swans, dogs, tigers, Fitzroy, any team can fall on hard times if things go badly askew.
Must always keep an eye on what you’re doing. The players you have, the players you can get etc.

Let’s not pretend, there was a time there where even Hawthorn were teetering.

They’ve done very nicely indeed. Would have been great if child supporters like Dermie and Dipper played for us for their complete careers.

Ps best player I’ve ever seen, Leigh Matthews.
Best football comments man I’ve ever heard, Leigh Matthews.
Best coach we’ve had in my time, Leigh Matthews.

I know you don’t rate coaches but he was phenomenal for our Club.

Lethal was a fabulous player but to me he was just as good a coach. He took no prisoners and in a brutal time to play footy @ 5'9 he was the most feared player in the league.

I do rate caches, just on a much smaller scale than players.
No players no coach; great players average coach can succeed.

Leigh is the best coach in my time for Collingwood.

And as good as any coach in last 5 decades.

Stood behind the goals one day as a kid watching Essendon v Hawthorn.

Ron Andrews whacked Lethal with a hook that would have killed some men.

Matthews shook it off, outplayed him, and late in the day belted Ronny with a sweeter punch than he copped earlier.

Toughest and best player I have seen by daylight.

Yeah.
Main game day thread, then you can create the “safe” thread.
No problems with that.
Just one rule for both threads.
When you first post in one, you cannot post in the other. Posters who do that should get 24 hours off.
That should stop the sniping when the Pies are going good or going bad.
