The crowd's reception toward MVP have been great, and QO taking Silent & Resolution to the cleaners with his TA was possibly close to play of the day (Only just lost out to FY's insane rubick game against Cloud9) has certainly got me on their bandwagon

Dat fy rubick game holy shit

I'm just relieved it's better quality than last year. I took a day off work for the final, rigged laptop into my TV, and it was about the worst pro dota I've ever seen. Same lineups in every game, death ball, yawwwn.

This year there's been way better team fights, and was really pleased to see Sumail cutting loose with WR mid today, nice change from the usual.

Still would be nice to see a bit more spread of heroes though. I reckon if you ignore the odd outlier, there can't be more than 30 that are considered viable?

I'm glad to see that some teams are beginning to run the traditional carry heroes. Watching VG have success by putting Hao on spectre & Morphling give me hope that we'll begin seeing more late game oriented heroes. If LGD ever meet EG, a Xiao8 vs PPD showdown during the drafting phase should see both teams picking heroes that haven't been frequently used in this meta

Including the group stage only 19 (or close to it) heroes haven't been picked. Last year was good up until the finals.

The meta getting a bit more rigid in the finals is a trend in TIs. It takes a lot of guts to do something crazy with your draft. This is where little things are huge. PPD a (no pun intended) genius when it comes to the little draft moves people don't expect. Not banning a flavour of the month hero because you believe you have the answer to it is something you might see from him that might win or lose them a match. I think it was at DAC where everyone was first picking or banning Tidehunter, he decided not to and it made a huge difference opening up their draft options. He later explained that he just doesn't think Tide is as strong as people think (this was a different patch mind you).

Interesting that someone finally got Leshrac this morning and was owned, after all that banning lol.

the final was pretty interesting. It really hinged on game 3 which was incredibly close, putting EG 2-1 up.

ppd masterclass on drafting handed them the victory in game 4. Looking forward to his analysis.

Although I'm in 2k MMR trash-tier (and belong there), this is probably the fastest team-wipe I've ever seen. I was Wyvern in this clip.

I last played ability draft a couple weeks ago and 6/10 of the players were bots :( shame really, it's a nice mode to play when you don't feel like try-harding in ranked. maybe valve should make it a custom match like HC, ez way to stop the bots

Looks good though unfortunately my favourite hero - storm spirit is still nerfed into the ground.

so glad huskar got nerfed. **** that guy.

Yeah huskar is disgusting to play against, glad he copped the nerfbat harder than anyone else. I reckon icefrog didn't want le unkillable burning spear man ruining everyone's fun with the new items (+200 range is interesting on so many heroes), the nerf was needed as well for huskar's synergy with oracle now he's been introduced to CM mode. I reckon his abilities will be slightly re-worked next patch but for now huskar out of the meta sounds good to me.

Looking forward to a game tonight now the main client is updated, keen to play ogre BB and venge in particular
