Considering he is coached by Chris Lewis, I doubt it.

"To attend the 2003 Camp, an individual needed to be nominated by a minimum of five AFL clubs in their list of 50 players they wished to closely monitor in relation to the upcoming 2003 National AFL Draft to be held at the end of November."

My guess is he didn't get nominated by enough clubs.

So then West Coast must be hiding him

Every man and his dog could also have read about Bonson on BigFooty as you would know.
Why exactly would a club nominate a player if they haven't seen him play at all??????

Clubs will not nominate players that they haven't seen play. They don't play matched at draft camp you know. The have all this aerobic and athletic crap they do and a skills session. No club would take the risk unless they have seen him play.

Not a greatsize topjars. 190 cm is not exactly a KEY defender. Bassett is 190 cm. We need someone bigger. We really should break a habit of draftin undersized KPP hoping that they'll grow. Chances are they won't then we are stuck trying to turn them intoa runnign player without success ala Michael Handby:(

Why would a club not go and have a look at someone who has a story written about him saying "That kid Bonson, he's the one"?

Yet Callum Burges who has a snippet written on Footygoss about him gets invited.

This bloke is actually a KPP who played majority of his footy at CHF. Before straining his knee he took 49 marks in 8 games playing at CHF. From all reports he is a very smart footballer. I say sign him up:eek:

Excuse my ignorance, but I have a question about the descriptions they use for players. Inside/outside midfielder I can understand. But what's the difference between an inside and an outside ruckman??

You are either really thick or just after an argument.

This Burges kid has been playing School footy. Every club has scouts at high school games.

Bonson is in the bush in the NT where not a lot of scouts (if any) go. You will find that scouts in NT concentrate on the NTFL as the kid has to be registed with a NTFL club to be eligible for a draft. Bonson is registered with Nightcliff FC but has only played a game or 2. Big difference between him and Burges

Well done Einstein, you just made a discovery:rolleyes:
Gee how original

Bloody good question, that one. :)

I couldn't work it out unless "inside" means they'll get down and get dirty as well as ruck and "outside" means Ben Marsh!!! :D

LOL

Maybe it means that "inside" is more of a tap ruckman where as "outside" is where a bloke offers a bit more around the ground:confused:

Buggered if I know:(

I like him: (Seen him play and the bloke is a tough cookie thats for sure)

Medium, inside midfielder/defender who reads the play well and has great endurance. Good kick and overhead mark. AIS-AFL Academy member in 2002. All-Australian U/18 in 2003. Made senior debut in SANFL this year. From Happy Valley FC.

Since we won't get Bradley I would also like him:

Tall, inside ruckman with terrific athletic ability and courage. Good below his knees for a tall player. Vice-captain of the WA U/18 Championships team in 2003. AIS-AFL Academy member in 2003. From Williams FC.

and if we are after a project player I would love him:

Athletic, tall, outside, key defender who is a one-grab player and an accurate kick for goal. Capable of playing in the ruck if needed. AIS-AFL Academy member and Vic Metro representative in 2003. From North Heidelberg FC.
Chris Stewart is probably the rawest talent in the draft. This bloke could be anything from a superstar to a dud. Has enourmous upside in his athletic ability. If you were after a project player he would be it. Should be around in early to mid 3rd round;)

Tall, inside defender who is a hard competitor, reliable and always makes the right decisions. Strong overhead mark. Brother Mick played for Collingwood. From Corowa-Rutherglen.

Wouldn't Gayfer be our most likely first round target, Stiffy (given that Bradley and Watts are almost certain to be gonne by then. Or would it be Morrison as suggested by Weaver??
