there are some freakish scores but thought the beep test would have been higher?

I know judd recorded a 15.13 or something, in the same year that he was drafted, so must be something different about the results at draft camp

I could be wrong, but I thought Judd did not attend the Draft camps due to injuries. He was tested at the states screening instead.

These results are from the afl website so they are correct. Judd's result may have been in a state screening however I would highly doubt that he would have recorded that level.

People probably don't understand that AFL players carry a lot more muscle than other athletes such as soccer players so beep test levels aren't as high as what those sorts of athletes can notch up. Thats why I laugh when I hear Roos supporters saying every player recorded a beep test over 16 in the summer

Sometimes one person says I heard player X did this and it becomes gospel when its actually just completely made up.

That can't be right.

24.67/7 = 3.52s average for 30m! The fastest 30m split I've seen from a professional 100m sprinter (Mo Greene) is around 3.6s

Gone back and chatted to a few blokes and Judd did get something about that level around draft time, but probably didn't go to draft camp due to his shoulders...still Judd is great, and other guys should have gone close if there isn't something special about beep test at Draft Camp

How is Tom Rischbieth going for Port? Has he looked like getting a senior callup? I was impressed by his draft camp results, obviously, and would like to see him go on to the big time. :thumbsu:

don't be suprised of a 15 something as the highest beep test score. i was looking through a thread on the afl one and some people were saying players like chick judd and mitchell completed the beep test with scores of 22 and 23. This is virtually impossible to get because at stage 22/23 you would need to be doing 2.8 seconds, which is not impossible if your not doing the beep test but actually doing the 20 m sprint, but after getting to this stage(22,23) it would be impossible because you would physically be wrecked and drained and wouldnt be able to do 2.8 seconds at stage 22/23 in the beep test. The highest score in a beep test i am aware of is shane crawfords 16.5, which is still a bl**** good effort.

Anyone know the state screening records as opposed to just the DC ones?

IIRC Moran holds the record for 20m time, but he only attended state screening, so it's not listed here.

young gun that goes by the name of alex goodingham
is only 16 and 17 in august did a beep in pre season that was 15.3
max bench of 100kg he is 188cm can run the hundred in 11.4 seconds and 20m sprint in 3seconds

thoughts?

Does anyone heard of who holds the record for beep test within the league at the monent? It used to be said to be Jose Romeo with a score around 17 and then it was said to be David Spriggs but I haven't heard much about it in the last couple of years since?

Simon Black runs a beep test of 15.9, Jonothan Brown runs a beep test of 15.6, Clint Bartram runs a beep test of of 15.1, Simon Hogan from geelong runs a beep test of 15.4, along with 9.55 mins in the 3km run. Tim Houlihan runs the 3km in 9.37 mins

Good call!
got the highest beep test at state screening yesterday with a 15.3... looks like he has kept at that fitness level for quiet sme time!

Tim Clarke from hawthorne got mid 17's.
Micheal jordan finsihed the beep test.

And as for why the draft camp record is pretty low, when i did TIS testing with tassie mariners we were getting scores of high 14's with some getting 15's however when you got o draft camp they are very strict on making the beeps/ leaving early before the beeps. In ours, if we just made the line they let it go and you were pretty much out when you gave up unless you were missing the beeps by alot. In draft camp, 2 missed even if they are small and your gone. So the fact is, when you hear of people getting big scores in the beep test at like club level its because they are not very strict on it wheras draft camp is.

Can people stop saying the "this person" finished the beep test! honestly you sound very very silly saying this without anything to back it up okay?

It goes to level 23 there has never been any tested player in any sport or code to make 20's let alone finish it.

David Beckem finshed it
Micheal Jordan finished it
Stuart Dew finished is as well did he?

sounds easy as.
