Blind freddy could tell that the bombers are in desperate need of a quality ruckman for next season, but the question is - should we trade for one, and if so who should be let go. The other option is to pick up someone like Paul Johnson from the draft... but that won't go far enough to fix the short term problem.

Unlike Robert Walls ... i believe that a ruckman is the most overrated member of a team. All you need at the stoppages is a contest. As long as they can run around the ground and knock a few big blokes out of the way, his job is done.

It is my belief that Port Adelaide will shop B.French around with Essendon being the first team they talk to.

What would you want for him?

Ruckmen may be overrated in the media, but they are important, and Essendon still needs one. We do not need a superstar, though, just someone who is at least average, preferably above average.

I think we should trade for a second-tier ruckman who is developed, reliable, durable, and won't cost us a lot of salary-cap eating cash or premiership players in the process.

Our last two premiership ruckmen: John Barnes and Peter Somerville.

Although there was a guy before that named Madden that wasn't half bad either ;)

Either

1) A.Henneman and a draft pick or

2) D.Jacobs (We would have to throw in someone else though if we wanted Jacobs though, hows A.Kingsley aswell sound?)

I would only trade Jacobs for a Francou or a Primus, or a Tredrea.

I'm sure if Essendon were offered B.French and A.Kingsley for D.Jacobs they would seriously consider it.

Wouldn't be so sure, I know you value your players highly and so may be a little biased, but Essendon needs Ruckmen and Midfielders but have plenty of key defenders whilst Port need a key defender and have plenty of Ruckmen and Midfielders.

French would lead the ruck and Kingsley would easily fit into the top 3 midfielders at Essendon.

No-one is as biased as you, Zombie.

Do you guys want Ben Marsh?-he's got ability just hasn't shown it with the Crows and a fresh start could be good for him.
If so we'll take Caracella off your hands and we'll throw in a 2nd/3rd round draft pick for good measure.:D

For Caracella we would want a lot more than that.

Our top 3 Midfielders are J.Johnson, Peverill & Misiti you could throw Hird & Rama in the mix aswell, Kingsley ain't getting picked in the first 3 for our midfield.

Ok, probably not top 3, more like top 5. Racks up about the same amount of possessions as Rama despite playing from the back pocket, he is a much better midfielder than defender but has to play defense because of the Port midfield being so strong.

IMO would flourish in a midfield like Essendons which is not a hack midfield but not a superstar one either.

Trades.

Don't be fooled, Bomber fans!

On the Port section of this site, 90% of the posters can't even find a spot for Kingsley in their best 22. That said, Sheedy has always said he regretted letting Kingsley go.

How would you Bombers like a certian man called M. Allan? We'll take Henneman and pick 44-ish for him. He can play, but is injury prone.

Received this 'rumour' via email this morning:

"This comes from a reliable source from inside the Collingwood
administration. Apparently at a private gathering late on Saturday
night (after much drinking), Nathan Buckley had an altercation with Chris Tarrant and called him "weak as ****" for missing those goals in the 3rd Quarter.  Tarrant took a swing at Buckley before the scuffle was broken up by players and officials.

The next morning, Neil Balme and Eddie McGuire were called in early by Tarrant and his manager. Balme and McGuire were told that Tarrant will no longer play in the same side as Buckley and because Buckley is an "untouchable" at Collingwood, Tarrrant wants to be traded to Essendon to play with his best mate Dean Solomon!

Collingwood reckon they can do a deal - Tarrant for Caracella !!"
