Really like Milera, have watched for a while now, but he really is too short for AFL. It wouldn't be an issue if he could play taller than he is, but he's not great overhead and he's an average tackler.

I think Kieran Harper is an absolute gem and I am really surprised that he isn't rated higher. He is a Medium forward/Outside midfielder who is quick with great skills. I would be stoked if we pick him at 14. It will be interesting to see his draft camp results.
Go on the AFL website and watch his highlights and tell me what you think.

Flash Campbell is the exact same height/weight, and Boomer Harvey isn't much bigger. He could make it if he's good enough, but if he's not a strong tackler he'll be up against it to get drafted in this day and age.

He's very good. Just not AFL good imo.

I wasn't aware that his tank had kept him in the forward lines, so maybe there's room for improvement. Still, I'm very sceptical. If you're that short, you need to play much taller. Boomer Harvey is a freak.

Very true about Boomer Harvey.
Scott Borlace had a chance but had injury problems.
Milera could use his lack of height to gain free kicks for being tackled to high in our forward line.

Boomer Harvey is a freak.

Oh for sure, but he's an elite player at 172cm - I was just making the point that height is irrelevant if you're good enough. Milera says he plays like Betts, who's only 173cm/78kg - there's room for blokes his size on AFL lists in this role - and in my opinion we could currently use a bloke like Eddie in our forward line. Though I must admit if he was any smaller at all, then he'd be absolutely no chance to get picked up.
But yeah, you've obviously seen a lot more of him than me, so if he's not good enough then that's that.

Best possible outcome:
1st Round: J, Caddy
2nd Round: D. Prestia
if he is still there, hopefully cameron Guthrie - highly doubtfull he'll be available as a 3rd rounder talentwise, but he has been kept quiet alot, understandable in a calder team consisting of wallis, liberatore, mitchell, prestia, watson etc.

Doubt Dion is there at our second, I think he'll be at our first, maybe.

Guthrie will go around our 2nd.

I'm a Caddie fan, but I wouldn't mind going after leg speed first.

The Crows will pick an quick and skilful outside mid with pick 14.
I was looking through the phantom drafts and there aren't that many outside mids that will still be around at 14. I narrowed down some possibilities.
Obviously Jarrad Polec and Brodie Smith are two ideal picks but we're dreamin thinking they'll be around.
Luke Parker and Josh Caddy are quality inside mids but I would consider taking them.
Jayden Pitt is a skilful outside mid, Ben Jacobs is an Half Back Flank/outside mid with a huge left foot.
But the standout to me is Kieran Harper who is super quick, has silky skills and got 3rd in the standing jump test and 1st in running vertical with 88cm at the draft combine. He is put in the 16-30 draft range by most phantom drafts but I'd happily take him at 14.

I'd love Harper. Don't know whether he'll be able to push into the midfield and be a full time midfielder but the guy is all class. X-factor personified... has all the tools for AFL. Is smart, athletic, evasive, good size, goal sense etc- its just that he doesn't get enough of the ball and doesn't do the things he can do consistently. If he puts it all together though he will be a GUN. Have a feeling he might be a bolter though, has a very attractive AFL package that recruiters drool over.

This was at the bottom of an article in the HUN.

"Adelaide, which received a pick at the end of the first round for Nathan Bock, is poised to use it now rather than bank it, even though that selection will be in the high 20s because of the compromised draft."

I smell a Rendell special coming on... if true, there is obviously someone likely to be floating around the mark that we will attempt to secure...

More likely to be used in the Jacobs trade I would have thought. Our 2nd pick is in the 30s, which is just a little bit too low for Jacobs. Our 1st pick is #14 which is way more than he's worth. The Bock pick is right on the money.

But Collingwood gave a way Pick 14 for Wood!

Did I do it right?

i interpreted it differently, but i can see where you are coming from... dammit, everything always ties back in to the jacobs/walker trade:mad:

But then the next paragraph specifies

Port Adelaide is expected to use its Nathan Krakouer pick, while the Dogs could put their Jarrod Harbrow pick on the trade table.

So I think we will see us actually use the compensation pick this year for a Rendell special.

Sellar & 3rd > Jacobs

Sellar & 3rd is unlikely to satisfy Carlton.

Some people on this board are seriously delusional about Sellar's value, given how little he's shown at the senior level (and yes I'm well aware of the arguments about him being played out of position).

Yeah I agree. Whilst he's still young, a good size and improving, he's still got a lot of work to do.

Carlton would look at guys like Talia and McKernan, and I'd be happy for them to be part of the Sauce trade if the trade was fair and equitable (draft picks required to even the trade out).

We have one or two too many KPP's with good currency and we can afford to offload one IMO.

Oh Jesus, Vader, I thought of all posters you wouldn't take any off the cuff trade speculation so seriously.

Prestia - 2nd in agility, top 5 in repeat 20's, 2.93 sprint, and about to dominate the beep test.....just sayin.

Surely this mancrush/bromance will escalate to the point of you having a picture of him as your avatar? :D

Impressive camp so far though. :thumbsu:

Jed Lamb has also set a new record in the kicking drill. As a flashy, half-forward with a good kick, he will be closely watched as well.:thumbsu:

Caddy also won the handball test as his name has been thrown around.
