Gavin Roberts is someone who could be a very smart late ND/rookie pick. Very thin and isn't great in physical contests, but is lighning quick, has superb skills and is a great athlete. Could be a very good wingman or dashing HBF in time, but would need a lot of developing, as in you wouldn't feel confident in giving him a game within 2 years.

Is Ian Callinan worth a shot? His skills are simply sublime!
He is a gun. Just threaded his fourth into the wind.

Leading for the medal at this stage you'd think.

Sellar & 3rd is unlikely to satisfy Carlton.

Some people on this board are seriously delusional about Sellar's value, given how little he's shown at the senior level (and yes I'm well aware of the arguments about him being played out of position).

What has Jacobs done other than 1 good tap game against sydney. Go on you tube and look at his highlights. barely a player at this stage you would give up much for. Poor around ground, ok hit outs and thats it. A dinosaur ruckmen that lack mobility. Not worth any more than Sellar at moment. Sellar at least may be ablre to fill a key back role if given chance

Christian Calabrese: Classy midfielder who is a ball magnet highly regarded by Sturt.

I went to school with him and his older brother. Really close mates with the brother, but always had an eye out for Christian in Sports Days. Ridiculously fast and decent endurance. Reminiscent of Dangerfield.

out of Caddy, prestia and Guthrie, if we can select two out of these 3 with our first two picks, we'd come out of this draft on tops imo.

We rate Jacobs but genuine midfielders are what we need. Still, depending on who's left, we might still go with him. He's a genuine ball-winner and plays that rebounding role very nicely.

Jed Lamb sounds like a perfect option for our 2nd pick if he's still there.

I'd love us to go into the draft with both #14 and the Bock compensation pick.

Edit - hell, I'd love us to also hang on to our second round pick. Let's get hold of three great midfield/small-forward options.

Totally agree with the above comments. There seems to be enough talent to get 3 potentially good goalkicking midfielders if we use picks 14, 26 & 32. Names like Jed Lamb, Josh Caddy, Dion Prestia & Josh Green come to mind.

I'm getting nervous with this trade week. Hope we trade players not draft picks. Or at least keep 3 picks in the top 30 odd.

With the Tambling trade almost sealed, and the likelihood of us securing Jacobs by the end of trade week, we'll probably only have one pick inside the top 30.

Yeah, he's Glenelg's captain. That AFL article indicated he played for Sturt. Amateur hour.
Also a good mate of mine, very bright future coming up. Had a fantastic league debut I thought, certainly increased his stocks a bit. Was also state U/18 captain for SA.

Got our ruckman, got our speedy mid.

who are we after? another speedy outside mid wouldnt go astray IMO

hope we use pick 14 for best available player under 190 cm. ;)

if they are 190+ they better run like the wind and have a booming left foot on them...
