Dude, someone asked who Francis supported and he answered the question. Stop acting like a Port BF poster.

Remember he is almost a year younger and add to that wasn't even on the radar 12 months agoOk, so what I said was based on my personal feeling from the footage I've seen so I decided to quickly have a look at what else has been said about him.
Knightmare seems to confirm what I saw:
AFL draft central rated his kicking as poor and says:
None of this did anything to dispel my impression that he might develop into a Jenkins type eventually.
That isn't necessarily bad in and of itself, but not worth a first rounder that might pay off in 5 years when Walker, Sloane and co will be nearing retirement. This draft we should be aiming for classy ball users who can contribute to our upcoming campaigns IMO. Wouldn't mind Carlton taking him at all if it means Francis comes our way
I've seen him take a contested mark floating across and over 5 man packI don't like H McKay at pick 9 either personally. If you're 200cm, you need to be able to provide a chopout in the ruck and / or take contested marks if you're a full time forward - not necessarily both of these things, but certainly one of them is required. McKay has shown no signs that he'll ever be able to do either of these things at an adequate level - the ruck work against 17 year olds has been nothing short of terrible, and if someone can locate footage of him taking a genuine contested mark, please let me know, because I've watched 3 or 4 full games of his and haven't seen one. Now don't get me wrong, he has attributes that should see him become a regular member of an AFL 22 - very quick and good below the knees for his height and good on the lead - but he just seems like more of a pick 18 than a pick 9 to me.
My order of preference for our two selections is as follows:
A Francis
C Curnow
C Oliver
W Milera
D Tucker
R Burton
R Mathieson
M Hibberd
K Collins
H McKay
If any of the top 3 on this list are available at 9, I'm pulling the trigger with one hand and pulling myself with the other. If we pass on any of those 3 for McKay, I will put my neck out and say we will look back on the decision with a fair amount of regret.
I'm not even remotely interested in Balic or Ah Chee - Balic isn't quick enough and doesn't win enough contested ball for me (we require one or both of these attributes) and Ah Chee is a small forward who I don't believe will ever develop into a mid, which we blatantly don't require with Betts, Cameron, Knight and Menzel all being acquired in the last couple of years. I didn't bother including Weideman or Parish (or the top 2, or any academy picks) because there is no chance of any of them being available to us.
Bottom line: if one of Francis, Curnow or Oliver falls to us, whoever we take at 13 is just gravy.
Smith from memory was a favourite in his year.I don't think we've drafted anyone that this forum has laser locked in on since I've been posting here anyway, with the exception of Matt Crouch, but the club telegraphed that one weeks out.
2007 it was Ebert, 2008 it was Johnston, 2009 I don't remember who it was (Tapscott maybe?) but it definitely wasn't Talia because he was gone to Carlton
I think we're all trying to make Francis available out of hope more than realism.
All writers seem have him going to either Essendon or Gold Coast, and no chance of being available any later.
Lever was pretty well rumoured. It was a bit all over the shop last year, some had us with Laverde, some with with Marchbank, some with Cockatoo. Lever was the strongest rumour.I don't think we've drafted anyone that this forum has laser locked in on since I've been posting here anyway, with the exception of Matt Crouch, but the club telegraphed that one weeks out.

Hipwood with our first....I'd do that!!Is there any chance that a team with an academy player will not match and throw a spanner in the works?

Do no harm?Liptak is subject to his hippopotamus oath.
Sellar was wished for, but unlikely - then slid.Lever was pretty well rumoured. It was a bit all over the shop last year, some had us with Laverde, some with with Marchbank, some with Cockatoo. Lever was the strongest rumour.
Davis was strongly rumoured. He firmed as the draft got closer. The original idea was Johnston, until the rumour started circling that we'd hidden Davis away.
Smith was linked to us, but it was a case of whether he would last to our pick. I think I remember Atley being one linked to us too?
Talia was to be gone by our pick. Jasper and Tapscott were the ones most linked to us, from memory. Talia was a major slider on draft day, that still makes no sense to me.
07 was definitely Ebert, or maybe Veszpremi. Dangerfield was a left field one.
Any further back, I didn't really take any interest, so no idea on Sellar/Douglas/Pfeiffer or previous.
How do you know that? That's pretty tough information to get ur hands on I would thinkwhere did you hear this?
Any chance Carlton bid pick one, to make sydney pay? Sydney surely couldn't pass, or they'll have to just use those 3rd round picks they accumulated.

Twomey, Quayle and Anderson have all suggested that Francis could slide to our first pick.
Jeffcrowe is probably the one to ask there...What's he worth?
At the same time, it's nice to see someone hold onto something to try and make it as accurate as possible along with filling it with all the information they can rather then trying to be the first to every bit of news - regardless of whether it's true or not as seems to be the case for 95% of the media these days.Good on Emma Quayle for releasing a pretty accurate phantom draft year after year but it's always released the day before the draft, or sometimes the morning of. What's the point of that? By that point people are willing to hold their breath for a few hours and wait for the real thing.
Surely the skill and challenge of the phantom draft is to release it at least a fortnight from draft night?!
What can I say??I suppose you do have good looking children [emoji4]
