Reckon we are super keen on Harley Balic.

Have apparently interviewed him several times and he said that Haggis gave him a brochure of all the things to do around Adelaide :D
I am no expert but his kicks in the highlights package are not great. I will trust the recruiting team because their record is great recently.

1: Weitering (Carlton)
2: Schache (Brisbane)
3: Parish (Melbourne)
4: Francis (Essendon)
5: Weideman (Essendon)
6: Oliver (GCoast)
7: Curnow (Melbourne)
8: H McKay (Carlton)
9: Milera (Adelaide)
10: Burton (Carlton)
11: Gresham (Richmond)
12: Hibberd (Adelaide)
13: Tucker (St Kilda)
14: Collins (Hawthorn)
15: Ah Chee (GCoast)
16: Clarke (North Melb)
17: Cole (Hawthorn)
18: Mathieson (Carlton)
19: B McKay (WBulldogs)
20: Bonner (WBulldogs)

I'm feeling this now.

Some other thoughts:

- If Curnow is taken at 3, then Parish slides to Bombers, Francis to Gold Coast, whilst Balic rockets up to the Dees' 2nd pick. Oliver then slides to the Tigers at 12, and Gresham goes to either the Hawks or Blues.
- If the Blues go early on Burton, then IMO we take McKay. This means Milera likely slides to us at 13, as I don't see the Blues and Tigers interested in him. Hibberd then goes to the Suns at 16, whilst Ah Chee ends up at North. Don't know what that leaves for Clarke.
- If we take Balic at 13, then Hibberd, Ah Chee and Clarke slide again.
- Reckon Weitering, Schache, Tucker, Collins and Cole are the only locks at the moment. Burton looks like a certainty to the Blues too, don't know which pick though.
- If somehow Francis slides to us, that means that Milera has been taken by the Suns at 6 instead of Francis, in the case of Curnow going at 3.
- I get a feeling Mathieson and Bonner are the big sliders on draft day.

surely AhChee is ahead of Hibberd
Hibberd would be ahead for mine, but I probably rate him higher than most. Don't get me wrong, Ah Chee is another that I love. Doubt we'll go with both Milera and Ah Chee though (looking more and more likely that it's Milera at pick 9).

apparently gc are keen on milera but if olivers there i think theyl take him. Yeh if he goes past them cant see richmond or carlton taking him.
Not Carlton? Who will they take at 8? H McKay? Would be v excited with Milera

My preferences in order for 9 are
Milera
Francis
H McKay

Pick 9 is Milera, Francis or McKay. It's a virtual certainty now that at least one of these 3 is available and it's blatant that we'll select them. If they're all gone (they won't be), we'll take Weideman, Curnow, Oliver or whoever inexplicably drops as a result.

Pick 13 is one of the above if magically available, or Burton, Tucker or Balic. I think the only way anyone else comes into the frame at 13 is if a) we select Milera at 9, and b) all 3 of Burton, Francis and H McKay are off the board. We'd then be looking at a Mathieson, Hibberd, Gresham or whoever the club is into out of those other types (it won't be another outside mid).

Logical pairings:
Milera / Burton
Francis / Tucker
Francis / Balic
McKay / Tucker
McKay / Balic

Dream pairing:
Milera / Francis (I don't care which order we select them in!)

My personal worst case scenario:
McKay / Balic (fully aware that both of these guys have their fans, but I'm not among them and I'll be avoiding BF for a month if we grab them BOTH)

Pretty difficult to get a read on exactly what will be available to us, but my best guess at this stage is that we jag Milera at 9 and Burton at 13.
Reckon you need to add Hibberd to pick 13 mix and I'm not sure if we have ever been interested in burton this year post injury

Can get them , who you after ?

Pretty rubbing test and doesn't really apply to game day much

Francis actually, I like his physical attributes but I'm curious about his foot skills and although I know those tests don't paint the best picture at least they're not subjective.

Not that I don't believe the opinions of those on here...:p

Got drunk a week before the 2007 draft, as a result of which he wasn't drafted until the Rookie Draft in 2009. I don't have an article to link for this one, but you can read about it in his player profile in the Locker Room. From memory he was also sacked from the U18 State team for alcohol related issues.
EDIT: His U18 alcohol history is mentioned in this article:
http://www.afc.com.au/news/2010-05-18/crows-explain-trios-sanctions

He received a club suspension for having a big night out on the town with Vince in 2010.
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/crows-suspend-three-players-for-breaches-20100517-v92r.html

In 2011 he was involved in another alcohol-related incident, in which he was punched in the head. The man who punched him was found guilty of assault, and was subsequently sued for $30k in damages. The assailant alleged that he punched Jaensch because Jaensch was drunk, aggressive and had sexually assaulted a young woman.

Then in 2015 he was busted for DUI:
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...g/news-story/95e273b36a916c1b0eb69d153f1edb9b

There are probably more incidents as well, but those were the ones which sprang immediately to mind. Vince was not offered a new contract and was traded to Melbourne as a result of repeated alcohol fuelled incidents. Do not be surprised of Jaensch suffers a similar fate.

Individually, none of those are hanging offences. Taken collectively, they present a picture of a player with significant behavioural problems when under the influence of alcohol. The DUI incident may well turn out to be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Very few players have a longer rap sheet. Harley Bennell is one of the few who spring to mind. This behaviour would have been completely acceptable and par-for-the-course in the 1970s and 1980s. Times have changed. It's unacceptable for an AFL player in the 2010s.
In simple terms, mj needs to give up alcohol if he is serious about afl.

This should apply to anyone who can't handle alcohol well.

i dont mind hibberd, but at 13 seems like overs for a type we dont really need.
where do you see him settling as a player hbf or wing?

Honestly, it depends where we want to play him, however I can see him at best developing into a damaging in/out mid.

Weideman apparently did a 3.2 for 20mtr sprint today ......trying to find out his beep test result

Is that because he usually comes on in the 3rd quarter so misses the first 2??

He is one of the better endurance players, if you watch him he is generally going at the same speed the whole game and in taxing games, seems quicker at the end due to his endurance.

There was one game last year where he was chasing down players in the last quarter and looked really good.

The issue is he isn't overly blessed with speed to begin with.
Not dissimilar to Thommo in terms of pace.
