Additions to the Crows' nest?
Harry MCKAY
Gippsland Power | 24/12/97 | Ht: 200 | Wt: 95

“Harry’s more the forward type in the Joe Daniher-type mould. Really worked on other aspects of his game, including ruck work, but has good hands, great work-rate, very athletic, good speed and can take a mark. Has some real AFL traits about the way he plays at his size.” – Gippsland Power coach Leigh Brown

Wayne MILERA
Central Districts | 14/9/97 | Ht: 183 | Wt: 78

“Wayne’s one out of the box. Just a fantastic, quality young indigenous man who played every game in the state under 18 side and played some senior footy for us and had a breakout game in the finals against Port Adelaide with a four-goal effort. Has come from a 16-17 possession player to a 25-disposal player, with a real impact on senior matches.” – Central Districts’ development manager Scott Stevens

Aaron FRANCIS
West Adelaide | 10/8/97 | Ht: 191 | Wt: 92

“Aaron has ben one of our most talented prospects for quite a while. He’s a great mark, his work-rate has improved out of sight since he’s been playing senior football. A reliable, he takes the game on, can play forward or back and starting to develop a bit of an edge so could play as a midfielder. Very exciting prospect.” – West Adelaide football manager Andrew Marks

Harrison HIMMELBERG
Eastlake | 8/5/96 | Ht: 194 | Wt: 87
“To Jason Saddington’s credit, the Giants Academy coach, gave him an opportunity as a 19-year-old – was excellent in the pre-season to the point where he selected him at TAC level and obviously nationals later on. Relocated to Canberra off his own back to Eastlake in the NEAFL and has just ticked every box. Got a little bit taller – now presents at about 194cm and high-level endurance. For this you need players as that sort of lead-up forward – he just burns opponents by his ability to keep going and keep going and keep going.” – NSW/ACT talent manager Darren Denneman

Darcy TUCKER
North Ballarat Rebels | 23/1/97 | Ht: 183 | Wt: 80
“Darcy’s been an instrumental leader for our football club this year. He’s a running half-back flanker – that’s his best position. He can go onball and his run and carry and decision-making’s very good. At the start of the year we played him as a midfielder, just to develop his midfield crafts a bit more – he has developed that. There’s been high expectations of him this year to really take the game on, but when he has played half back at times he’s showed what he can do. He’s a bit critical on himself sometimes, wants to get the best out of himself, whether that affects his performance, I’m unsure. He’s also done all of the Rebels’ opposition analysis this year and he’s got an outstanding football brain.” – North Ballarat Rebels’ talent manager Phil Partington

Ryan BURTON
North Adelaide | 31/1/97 | Ht: 191 | Wt: 88
“Ryan didn’t play this year after suffering a horrendous knee injury in a school footy game in August 2014 that was described as like being in a car crash. He came back and trained late in the year and some of his work on the track, despite not going at full speed, certainly showed his class. Had he not got injured he had the talent to go top 10 in the draft but the cloud surrounding the injury makes it difficult to assess given the potential for ongoing problems. On talent alone he’s right up there.” – North Adelaide football development manager Neil Sanders

Sounds like our own Tom Lynch.

I would prefer it if we targeted a genuine goal kicking key forward rather than the lead up type.

You got off to a good start with that Jaensch comment.:p
Haha, thanks mate. One of my favourite teams to watch, and I don't say that to all the girls. ;)

I don't think it does. If Curnow slides down, someone must slide up (probably Francis or Milera ).

Bloody Curnow could have stuffed our chances of getting Francis or Milera.
Mckay is a bigger need than those 2, even if they are better players right now. Chances are 1 will still be there at 9 IMO.

Anyone else coming around to thinking Ben McKay is also in the mix with one of our picks especially if brother Harry is off the table??

Just as some constructive criticism I would suggest in the future you mention some of the inclusions from trades and how these may impact a club's needs going into the draft. For example, we traded heavily for outside run and carry this year to fix what was seen as a slow side. In the draft we may seek to continue to build on that or perhaps not, either way it's worth addressing in an article of this nature in my opinion.

Well, I'd give an A for effort on the article.

My feeling though is that it is probably around 2/3 accurate on how this BF board regard our team going forward as per posts by better footy minds than mine through the various threads here.

You haven't got much time left to cover the other teams before the draft :)
