List Mgmt. Draft Watch 2015

I do like the look of Mitch Hibberd. Over-ager but nailed the kicking test yesterday at the combine, coming first. Riley Bonner nowhere to be seen in the top ten which surprises me. He was invited, wasn't he?

Anyway Hibberd is a smooth mover. Great size about him. Looks like an AFL player.

Pretty sure he's had some sort of surgery and isn't doing the tests.

Anyone thought of Mason Redman as a potential 2nd round draft pick? Looks as if he may fall around around the 34-40 mark so probably around where we will be once all FA compensation is arranged, assuming we don't trade our 2nd rounder off.

I think he has reasonable upside for a player around this mark.
187cm Forward/Midfielder looked like he competed well in the U18 champs even though he lacked a bit of bulk compared to other kids.
From what has been observed from others so far it seems he has good disposal and poise, as well as a good mark. We seem to lack this sort of player with elite disposal and good mark that are vital for ball movement through the midfield as opposed to just winning the ball out of stoppages and butchering it. (i.e. Too many BoBs and Lyons).

DISCLAIMER: I do know the dude so take what I saw with a grain of salt, but I will say he's a good character all around.

Can't have enough redmen in the team [emoji12]

Why don't we save that word for the actual stars. The Dangers and Fyfes and Franklins.

Isaac Smith gets given the ball a lot by the ball winners at Hawthorn and finds targets. Is he a match winner? Do fans go to games excited about watching him play? He wasn't in the top 50 of the AFLCA awards, wasn't in the AA squad of 40, got 3 Brownlow votes and will probably finish around 8-10 in Hawthorn's B&F.

He's a good player in a good side. Not a star.

Francis and Bonner are not testing. Both injured I'm told.

Bonner is in a Moon Boot has been for at least 4 to 5 Wks I don't know what the INJ is
as for Francis he hasn't been Well. He would have played through out the SANFL Finals

No and No.

I guess I should have expected that kind of answer from you given a previous post which I rightly ignored.

The two players I had seen and thought would have been a good fit for the AFC last year Liam Duggan and Oscar McDonald both played AFL in their first season and contrary to what some posters on here thought Liam Duggan in particular went higher than they predicted and was going really well for the WCE until his unfortunate injury. Oscar did well in the VFL and showed promise in his couple of AFL games at the end of the season, especially given young KPD's don't often even get games in their rookie year. I'll be happy to revisit this thread with you in 2 or 3 years time when we'll both know definitively who was right and who was wrong.

I'm not commenting on a player I've never seen that's why I take your comments on Ryan Burton on face value and for the record I won't have any problem if the AFC guys select him either because I will be comfortable in the fact they will have done their due diligence on his horrific injury and from what I've read by "good" judges he was a supreme talent before the injury. I just think we need a Darcy Tucker type player or his like with elite speed and elite kicking and I feel Darcy in particular can free up Brodie Smith to the midfield to replace Dangerfield's speed but with better delivery.
I wouldn't be disappointed with tucker , have him in the mix for one of our 1st rounders and he would play next year too

IMO still take best available .....depends on the hurt was over his delisting or how it was done by the club ....Curnow can be something special ...IMO a great midfield option and a bit like Cripps
Have a feeling we are not keen on curnow , don't think he will end up with us which I'm happy with

Curnow not too swift over the 20m

Like that hibberd can play on half back and wing and is tough and can kick ...we would be keen but need to upgrade our 2nd pick

Cameron's best work isn't in his finishing or his goal sense. both which are fine, but he is no betts or wingard yet.

It's his work in traffic and the pressure he is able to put on to cause those opportunities.

Further up the ground he would still be able to do that and set goals up. Just depends if he has the tank. We shouldn't be casting him as a forward pocket and not trying to make him into a genuine line breaker.

Best time was 3.15. One of the slowest i saw today.

Is that slow for a tall .....i hear claims 2.95 is quick, hell not much difference is there?

So you're saying he does exactly what a player in his position is supposed to do?

Why do they do the beep test on wooden floorboards when we play on grass?

Look, I'm no biomechanics but running on grass is much harder than running on a wooden floorboards and would give misleading data.

Have always wondered that myself.

He's not tall tall though. gac nyuon (sic) was around the 2.9 I think and he's very tall.

I think a tenth of a second is actually a fair difference. Joel Wilkinson holds the draft camp record at 2.77 or so.

believe francis picked up a groin problem on the eve of the finals thanks to his pac involvement.
Seems more and more young players are having to manage that Osteitis pubis condition these days.....don't know if that was Francis's problem but rest seems to be the only real cure for it.
