Thankfully Hamish Ogilvie and the recruiting teams don't just look at 2 or 3 minute highlight reels picked out of a whole season's football to form their opinions on the "draftability of respective players.....

There is no way clubs draft purely on talent, recruiters are smarter than that. A balanced team is a good team.

With what appears to be a general concensus about which players are top 15 , i'm not sure a left-field Olgivie special should be used at picks 9 & 13 this year.

I have great faith in this bloke through his last couple of years recruiting. Crouch, knight, lever all guns. Whatever he gets il back him in. If i had to put $$$on it id back us to get in burton and oliver.

Theres alot of good prospects who would suit our needs inside the top 30. This is why i think we identified 3 picks inside 30 before menzel deal was done. We need grab atleast one sa kid with our 2 picks. Burton, milera and bonner all around the mark.

I'm hoping we don't get Burton, to be honest. Our forward line is set - why do we need another? Unless it's a developing KPF like McKay, it's a no from me.

True, but at the moment there's some holes to be filled if we want to become an all-around good team, not just a great forward line with great depth. Besides, we've got Lynch/McGovern as 3rd talls, which is what I see Burton as.

Be interesting following the 2015 seasons of 4 players expected to go in the 1st round of the National Draft over the next 4 weeks, starting this monday with Darcy Tucker and followed by Callum Ah Chee, Ryan Burton and Harley Balic.

True, but at the moment there's some holes to be filled if we want to become an all-around good team, not just a great forward line with great depth. Besides, we've got Lynch/McGovern as 3rd talls, which is what I see Burton as.

He's stacked on 11kg of muscle in under a year as a 17 year old and is now 6'3-6'4 and 90kg+, with his frame it's not hard to see him putting on another 5-10kg of muscle which would put him at a similar size and height to Tex. I guess it depends on whether the club believes he has the attributes to play as a true key forward as to whether he's worth the investment, but with Podsiadly now retired there's a gap in our depth chart and for me it's a concern that we really don't have an obvious A grade talent coming through who could fill the void if Tex or Jenkins went down for an extended period. If our recruiting team look at him and see what you see (a 3rd tall) then you'd think they'll pass on him.

When I look at our list I view our needs as midfield, key position forward, key position defender in that order, but in the unlikely scenario that Francis is still available at pick 9 it's difficult to see us passing on him. Assuming he's off the table by then, then I like the look of Burton to fill one of those needs. The other factor in his favour are these reports that he might also be able to be able to push into midfield, I've not seen enough of him to know for sure whether there's any substance to these claims (Skippos?) but if he does have that string to his bow then given the wraps on his talent you'd think it becomes a no brainer to pick him up if he's available.

Having said that, given their stellar record of identifying talent I'll happily defer to Ogilvie and Noble and I'm sure we'll all be happy with whoever they pick, no doubt we'll be welcoming another pair of A-graders to the side from our 2 picks this year!

It's just you, I've watched him live for several years, rarely misses a target and has a very penetrating kick, most recruiters class him in the top half dozen or so in this years draft.....and he's a lefty.

I thought he wanted to try and develop into a bigger bodied midfielder once he got back from injury? Its not the worst idea I have heard considering he is far from a hulk and seems quite poised.
