Hi all, I cbf reading through all the pages to find this answer. Can someone tell me yes or no on this one:
Will the crows have pick 9 and 13.. or will it get pushed out to 13 and 17 due to the bidding of academy/FS?
Thanks

Yes to both.

We will be making the 9th & 13th live selection in the draft.

The number of the pick can move to 13 & 17.

Seriously? This is the AFL. The vast majority have alcohol related behavioural problems.

Hasn't done Luke Hodge's reputation much damage.
They do, but very few have as many black marks against their name as Jaensch. As for the comparison with Hodge... Jaensch is barely fit to stand in his shadow, not to mention that Hodge isn't a serial offender like Jaensch.

Not if there's another bid between our picks ;)

not sure how accurate brett anderson is from sen, but he said he thought Gresham should go top 10 possibly to MFC or Essendon (rates him higher than parish and Oliver) and Curnow is guaranteed to go 3.
also said its one of those drafts where even experts don't agree on who deserves to be top 10, so anything is possible.

to the mods how do we get a poll going?
Since you started this thread, are you able to go back to the first post, select the Edit function and maybe add a poll?

PS. I previously posted:
So up to original poster or mod? Looks like with polls you can specify the max number of choices each user can make so if it doesn't really matter what order (9-v-13) players are chosen, just have the list of possible candidates as poll choices.

Well yeah Gary Buchenara's top 10 was interesting. Had Collins at 3. I think Tucker was in his top 10 (where some draft experts have him outside top 20 in rankings of players). Mills wasn't in his top 10.

My updated phantom: to get this thread back on track, minus academy players.
;)
1. Weitering - carlton
2. Schache - brisbane
3. Weideman - melbourne
4. Parish - essendon
5. Curnow - essendon
6. Oliver - gold coast
7. Collins - melbourne
8. Mckay - carlton
9. Francis - adelaide
10. *gws
11. Burton - carlton
12. Gresham - richmond
13. Milera - adelaide
That's pretty much what I have. Weideman or Curnow to potentially switch places depending on fitness test. Melbourne at 7 only risk on Francis for mine, don't really know what they will do there. All things considered I'm convinced we will have at the very least the option of one of Francis or Milera at 9. If both are there at 9 then there is every chance we get both given what you've suggested above.

What are his other incidents at the crows?

Plenty worse in the afl including Hodge if you count *injunction

Next years draft is full of mids. This is the year teams are going to look for kpp. Essendon, melbourne and carlton are all in need of kpp. Pick 3 is critical. If melbourne go for weideman or curnow essendon will take parish at 4 and then the kpp melbourne didnt take. Melbourne last year drafted petracca and brayshaw they also have viney, tyson, vince, jones and trengove. They could go parish but i think their move up the order is to gain a kpf to partner hogan as they lack in this area. They have kpd in mcdonald and garland who plays tall/small but after losing frawley they are limited in options. If its true about milera and francis being flight risks i cant see these 3 clubs choosing them over oliver
And if we finish in the top 4 next year say, the very best of the midfielders will be long gone before our pick, if there is a quality mid still available at our pick this draft we pounce, that old saying, "a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush"....Just depends what Pyke and our list management believe are our needs and as would be expected they are playing their cards very close to their chest in that regard. I still feel personally we DO need another KPD on our list whether it be through the draft [Collins] or a mature ager in the rookie draft.

Going by that we would end up with Mathieson, not sure many here would too happy.
