I'm hoping for this:

1. Carlton - Weitering
2. Brisbane - Schache
3. Melbourne - Oliver
4. Essendon - Parish
5. Essendon - Francis
6. Gold Coast - Ah Chee
7. Melbourne - Weidemann/Curnow
8. Carlton - Curnow/Weiddemann
9. Adelaide - Mckay
*
11. Carlton - Burton/Tucker/Collins
12. Richmond - Gresham/Rioli
13. Adelaide - Milera

Maybe Milera has pulled a Wingard.

So, do we boo if Pdub is not called out at 9 then?

He's been skipped by every pick in the last 14 drafts, I think the club is going to try take him with pick 71 at which point he will turn to Jake Kelly and say "Aint that some bull...Rookie". So rather than a boo I recommend a cricket slow clap like chant of "P-DUB... P-DUB" that starts slow at pick 1 and increases in speed and volume as we approach pick 71.

Walker in all Aussie squad, Lynch most goal assist in comp and Jenkins nearly 50 goals. If that is desperately needing a key forward then god knows what we call our midfield needs.
list management is about projection

we have 1 gun key forward 26 yrs old and jenkins who has surpassed expectation last 2 years + lynch who is a lead up hybrid forward (not key forward)

If one of these guys gets injured Andy otten is realistically the next in line until we see otherwise from mcgovern, dear and ramsey

if you don't think that is scary then good on you

in 2 yrs time tex will be 28 and jenkins toward the end ...the 18 yr old draftee that we may draft tonight will be 20 yrs old and still developing (eg boyd, daniher etc)

you can't just go a pluck a gun key fwd without a high draft pick, all you need to do is look at how fremantle are going trying to replace pav- it's almost impossible task without a top 10 draft pick

that's why we apparently offered 9 and 13 for pick 2- to get schache

the draft isn't about finding the best players for 2016, it's about finding the best players

Maybe he's on the radar but we expect him to be gone by 13 ?? I know Jeffcrowe is big on HMackay but is he really that big of a need ??

Sure if we dont think Dear or Ramsey are gonna make it and that might be the case but why otherwise ?? If what CC said is correct and we made a bid for Brisbane and Schache then it could point to that.

Milera adds speed and class and another 'x factor' player to the list. The one question I have is will he be a consistent performer or another Cameron 'burst' player.

Burton is a huge query. If he is deemed fit by the docs, which it appears he has been then he's worth a punt. Will he be there at 13 ?? If not then who do we pick. Collins ?? Tucker ?? Bonner ?? Balic ??

For the first time in 10 years we have 2 first rounders...... ill be refreshing the page at work for the first 30 minutes of the draft !!

Reckon the best possible, likely outcome now is Curnow (if we convince him to stay after two years) and Milera. Milera and Hibberd is still my absolute first preference, but I don't reckon we'll get Hibberd now.

What we need is to be developing a key forward who can take over from Walker/Jenkins when the retire. Jenkins is 26 going on 27, it will probably take Mckay 4-5 years to become a regular in the team and would give us some depth before then.

No, he can stay home after his behaviour pre-draft.

think we have to take a kpf with one of our picks, its a great chance and in desperate need of one.
It's a need.. but not a desperate need. Inside midfielder is a desperate need.

But hey, we had a desperate need for small crumbing midfielders and it took them a decade before they finally traded for one (Betts) before drafting one the following year in the rookie draft (Cameron).

Desperate need does not always result in players being drafted to fit the need.

Burton.

Why would Nobes be this open about him if we were really into him?

Why did we make it obvious that we would take Matt Crouch, if we didn't think he would make to 23?

To me, the club knows or at least thinks there's a big chance Burton will still be there at 13, and will are definitely thinking of picking him. So we coming out pre-draft saying he has been given the all clear, to help alleviate any major cries from fans that we've taken too big of a risk.

And how does drafting a KPF in 2015 change that equation? It doesn't improve our 2016 KPF depth one iota. All it does is add another name to the list of McGovern, Dear & Ramsey (as developing players).

Adelaide drafted 3x tall forwards last year. They really don't need to address that same need two years running. Us supporters just need to be patient and wait to see how McGovern, Dear & Ramsey turn out.

** Not saying the club won't take a KPF. Just saying that I don't think they should.

To be fair, McGovern more a 3rd tall fwd, and Ramsey more a KPD. Dear seems more likely to not make it, too.

However, I still think the best way to fill our KPF needs is through next year's draft.

People saying that burton would be top 2 or top 3 of this draft easily without the injury are probably getting ahead of themselves ( it's possible but also possible he would have ended up having a year like an Ah Chee or a tucker)
I know for a fact Tucker had virtually no pre-season this year due to the 6 months rehab and physio required for his injured ankle that required surgery and the insertion of 2 screws, and I'm sure I read Ah Chee was in a similar boat injury wise and club recruiters would be very aware of this and will no doubt factor that into their ratings. In effect Burton by the fact he was unable to be assessed at all form wise probably puts him at some advantage over those two.

The fact Aaron Francis didn't do the testing at the combine due to "fatigue" probably didn't harm his chances because the one very big question recruiters apparently had with him was his suspected lack of endurance/tank.

I think there is a case to be mounted, on the basis that our KPFs are 25 & 26 and we need to do some succession planning at some point, before they mosey on into the sunset. I don't think it's a particularly strong case, given our 2014 drafting and the fact that they both probably have 5 years left in them (which is more than a decent young KPF should require to develop). I do, however, agree that there is a case...

However, there is no case whatsoever to be mounted based on the argument that drafting a KPF in 2015 would improve our depth coverage in 2016.

On the 'Recruiter files' article on afc.com.au about Matt Crouch it says the recruiter asked Noble the night before who he thinks we will get and he said "probably Matt Crouch and Riley Knight". They have a pretty good idea most years, I think they even discuss who they want in trade week when shuffling picks. But they say this year is the hardest to predict, probably because of all the clubs with multiple picks early have been tight-lipped about who they want hoping players can be left at their first pick and will slip to their second.

Yeah that's true, I think most on here want a KPF for a succession plan tbh. I reckon we need to get one in 2016, though.

It really wants to make me post my masterplan for 2016-2022, but eh.

Next year draft is a midfielders draft this has been quoted may times
