Just watched his highlight reel again.....I would say we must take Cox. Watching on YouTube is no substitute for watching live but he strikes me as special.

200 cm, elite 2 KM time trial, elite speed for his height, elite kick off either side. Can jump at the footy and catch it. Love that he can weight his kicks or punch them as required - he has beautiful touch by foot and his ball drop is rock solid so it will stand up at AFL level.

Drop him down to 190 cm and he's still a prospect, drop him to 180 cm and he's still a prospect. How many 200 cm players could you say that about?

Only three things are certain in life; death, taxes and someone mentioning Ariel Steinberg at draft time each year.

At the end of the day it is a very imperfect science. Recruiters often get it wrong, but I can't imagine getting it better myself. We have huge arguments over current players as to whether they are any good, let alone future prospects. The only bugbear I have is the Steinberg thing - when we reach for an obscure talent who would almost certainly have been available later anyway.
in a way yes.
But the sharper picks (i.e. where we have them Wed) should be no brainers.

I feel we generally do alright.

I question Bruhn given his size. If we want class, Perkins will at least also give us some size and scoreboard impact. I'd question what role Bruhn plays with Caldwell & Parish in the side.

Reid i get. We need a couple of KPD kids. Though with Brand & Eyre coming in, is a top 10 pick spent on a KPD wise? It's not an overly hard position to find quality players for. Esp given our major need is a simple, big stopper for the FFs.

Henry looks good. I question if he's that high on the needs list. Esp to pass up Perkins for.

one of the sharper revisionist drafting stings.
Also picking Parish over Oliver........

As it's getting closer, my preference is settling.
Top 5 go as expected, take Perkins & Cox. If Perkins and/or Cox go earlier, take the ones that fall out of the top 5
Test collingwood on Reid and try get 14 & 16 for 8.
14 & 16 on Poulter & one of Macrae or O'Driscoll

Oliver went pick 3, we took Parish at pick 4 ffs.

Even if McInnes doesn't end up a genuine inside mid, his skill & athletic set would help out list anyways. Using that to garner a trade with Collingwood should absolutely be on the table imho.

Really warming to a Perkins + Cox + McInnes or trade back for 16 & 21 first for the pies

The most intriguing thing for us is not what we do with our top 10 selections but where bids come for Eyre and Brand. Both could go inside the top 40 or both could slip to the rookie draft

Mills was 3 actually, Oliver 4, Parish 5 and Francis 6. That draft has more myths and fantasies for every year that passes.
Yup, forgot about mills. I just recall we had 4 and 5 in the draft took Parish before Francis. Oliver was coveted by Dodoro but Melbourne nabbed him the pick before

The Parish, Oliver thing was a joke (in reference to Parker v Steinberg)

Im starting to warm to the idea of just bidding on McInnes at 6. Dont think Collingwood are matching if it eats 14 and pushes 16 out to a later pick.

McInnes, Cox, Perkins, Brand, Eyre is a good mix.

Collingwood 16 and 2021 1st for pick 8 and 2021 3rd would still be best result for us though.

Perkins, Cox, O'Drisscol/Ford/Macrae, Brand, Eyre.

i am thinking we won't use 44.
Likely move it to 2021 if Brand/Eyre bids come later.

Not sure McInnes would be invested if we draft him. Reading the Collingwood board, He has apparently recently followed the CFC and a couple of dozen of their players on Twitter. If so, his mind is set. Things may come crashing down.
might have been touched on but Reef is a mad Dons supporter. was recently on a collingwood supporters podcast and was raving bout how much he loves the dons and is excited for the bombers future.

Can we cut out the middle man and the ensuing 2 years and just offer Jamarra 7 million over 7 years now?

Does the 6 list spots include Moz on the inactive list ? That could be another to look into.

Bearing in mind the AFL has addressed the mid season draft with a draft at the end of every third rounds or something similar iirc. Could be handy to keep a spot up our sleeve.

2016 Sandringham midfield
McGrath, Taranto, Setterfield and Florent.

It doesnt happen every year, but it isnt impossible

Yeh there just seems so many every kid i read about is from the chargers it seems and on the back of last year. This seems alot more than 4 from that premiership side

We think it’s not possible to put someone on the inactive list before the end of the rookie draft. So if we do that it’ll mean options with SSP or mid-season rookies.

Yeah i think with no footy from 2020 from Vic kids then 2019 form is all we have to go from.

Oakleigh destroyed the rest of the comp last year, and Will Phillips for example was in a starting midfield as an underager with Anderson and Rowell.

Guys like Perkins were pushed to the periphery but still performed, so a bit of it will be extrapolating from for the VIC kids
