eDPS what is my man Sam Conforti’s endurance like?

Ham is going ok but you g Sam looks a very similar player with more tricks

Definitely on board with this one. Need a small forward and I especially like ones that can fly.

Has he done anything this year that suggests he will become a senior AFL player of substance? For example if he wasn’t the brother of Tom would anyone be talking about him as a prospective draftee?
Have not seen him play this year

Fordham was so big I legit thought he was Frankston's ruckman for a second.

Reckon he’s Hibberd mark II in that he came to North as a skinny flanker and left before he filled out and turned into the sort of player he was always destined to be.

That’s not to be disparaging to Hibberd either, we just never embraced him or the function he was clearly capable of performing.

Watching Hibberd play even in the VFL IMO he is not a bull around the stoppage despite his size. He is a decent clearance player who can work to the outside. We already had / have those players albeit the smaller variety. For him to play midfield he had to replace McGrath or Merrett or Shiel. He was and is not actually a physical bull like Stringer is in his role.
On top of that Hibberd did get some time on the wing as well as high half back and had opportunity to do some stoppage work but he was only average in that department.
Personally I think that there is a misconception that he was a Cripps type midfielder when he was more a big And lesser version of what we had.
Would have been good to have kept him for longer and seen more actual midfield but AFL list cuts saw to that.

Freeman is a headline grabber in the VFL with his 40 touch games. His short kicking makes him undraftable, especially at his age. There are about a dozen VFL mids who are more likely at this stage.

There were still 17 opportunities for that last year, in a season that was a write-off by the halfway mark. Whether he was up to it or not it's completely on the coaches that we (and they) didn't get to see what he could do in the centre square at senior level.

He did have a late pre season injury that made the early games a stretch.
Sure he could have played more games late but one season is a short period to be judged on. I think it is more the fact that there was no VFL that hurt. Anyway it was the list size that got him in the end.

I think our number 1 priority for the ND is getting a classy wingman. We need someone better than ham to play opposite cox. Someone who gets enough of the ball, can take a mark and use it well. Obviously midfield depth won't ever hurt, but I think were covered, with Shiel, Mcgrath, parish, Merrett, caldwell, Perkins and potentially cox coming through, with snelling, smith, stringer and hepp able to rotate through there. We can get a project big inside mid in the mid season draft, or in a later round of the ND or RD, or even trade. We desperately need a good wingman, Langford isn't cutting it on a wing, and we need to throw him up forward.

I also think if there is an elite key forward prospect at one of our picks, we should take them, and maybe another classy half back would be good.

Bit flat today guys, got some bad news. Surprised my three games in VAFA 3s Division 5 wasn't enough :pensive:

Considering they accept anyone playing any level of footy for the national draft, just how bad were those 3 games?

Edit - I got genuinely curious as to why you were unsuccessful and searched up the criteria, if you aren’t ex-AFL you had to have nominated for the most recent national draft (can apply for exemptions through AFLPA or something like that).

Yep it's that criteria there, didn't know I had to nominate for the most recent national draft. I know for next year.

As for how bad those games were, here is a summary of my storied career:
Game 1: Fwd pocket, 2 touches, 1 50m penalty conceded, 0.1 kicked.
Game 2: Fwd pocket then half back, 5 touches.
Game 3: Half back, large concussion and never returned.

Apply for the ND this year for the laughs

A score involvement from 50% of your touches in game 1 was pretty good.

Yeah idk, I can’t be bothered going back and checking the exact wording but I’m pretty sure it said AFLPA lmao. Probably on the off chance there is a player a club wants who doesn’t meet criteria.

* ok so the tab was still open, exact wording - Any player who does not meet the above criteria can be nominated by a representative of the AFL Talent Pathway, their AFLPA accredited agent or the player themselves and be considered for an exemption. Any requests for an exemption should be directed to Michelle.Thomson@afl.com.au

Yeah, I didn’t read it very thoroughly.

Sounds like the perfect loophole for Dodoro to pull a rabbit out of.
