More to make sure the draft is after year 12 exams.

Outside of maybe Horne-Francis, is there any player who isn’t going to be depth? Hell, it is likely Perkins is depth.
I’m not meaning the short term

Must be a poor draft if the bloke in your draft rankings at 10 is going to be only depth long term :p
The only real concern I have for Sinn is he has already had a hamstring injury which may end up being nothing going forward.
Personally he just looks like a good 200 game player to me even if he ends up with no scope to improve and spends his time running off half back.
If he has upside then that will transition to wing and midfield. Also like his attitude. I listened to Jason Taylor explain how they went about their recent recruiting and a big part was out of the group of players they liked attitude and how competitive they where. I think Sinn has that.
If I keep going I will talk myself into him being my preferred pick :D
I still like a few of the bigger guys but I think Sinn is a good prospect.

Essendon: 150/291 51%

Melbourne: 186/323 57%

Carlton: 125/250 50% (they would have a much more even spread without H. McKay’s 58 goals, almost 25% by himself)

Adelaide: 129/230 56%

I’m adding these manually so sorry if there are errors 😅

Western Bulldogs: 171/339 50%

Brisbane: 196/333 58%

Is that the trend you were expecting to see? You can do the rest :tongueoutv1:
ah thanks - duly noted

thought we'd be a fraction lower

The issue with Ridley is they tried to get him up the ground playing high flank or wing in the VFL a few years ago and he was average. He is not the player that is going to take off up the ground with a bounce and if he is quick then Sinn will win a medal in the 100m at the next Olympics. Ridley is a great intercept mark and a very good user of the ball but he is not a dashing half back. He is an A grade intercept marker. We need him to be that. Kelly will help him plat that role better and more often.
If anything Kelly may release Redman to play more up the ground.

If you look at our game plan Sinn is a natural. Speed , decent skills , medium size and can play half back or midfield. Yes he can play midfield and he can also play wing. He provides us with a bit more run and spread which we can also use. He is simply not just a half back. He has had exposure playing half back / half forward and midfield .

Yeh i dont have genuine hopes of Ridley being a rebounding half back and its not taking advantage of his best assets

He reads the ball, intercepts, delivers by foot as well as any in the comp and his defending now is of very very high quality aswell

Hes better being deep and just rolling off at his own will that he see fits. Thats why weve grabbed Kelly.

Its a reason i like the Goater sentiment aswell because he could start half back at AFL level if we lose a player

Apart from the long-term flexibility it gives, players who can come into the main side via the flanks is pretty valuable at the moment. Our small/medium back and forward depth is pretty shallow, and that is more likely where the opportunities to get senior games are in the short term. So it adds depth for us in an area of need, improves long-term flexibility, and gives them an opportunity to push sooner for the senior team.

Yeh any of the non talls that high up can expect plenty of games if they warrant it

M.Johnson, Erazmus, Rachelle can easily start half fwd early next year

Wanganeen anywhere from flank to flank

Sinn, Goater HBF/Wing

Its probably hard to put them in our absolute best 22 but we know the likelihood of that happening, especially early

Feel we could go anyway and likely just pick best available

Rachelle (Small Fwd)
Amiss /Mac (Tall)
Erazmus, MJ, Goater (Big inside mid)
Sinn, Wanganeen (Half back Flanker/Wing)

Lucky for us we shouldnt have too much choice by the time of our pick

Id rather we focus our high picks on the front half of the ground though

I dont think so

Have to over pay. Points for next year and a great spot in the draft that weve been on record to be aiming for. It sits nicely behind a group of 6/8 picks from non Vic sides. Could see something nice fall through especially with covid and kids not wanting to leave family as much

Id like it higher. Id prefer the hawks pick 21 but that could be used for Sonsie. Norths 20 seems to valuable as will freos 19. The cost would be too great

I guess it depends where we see the 15-25 group of this draft. I quite like it and fills needs
We are giving away f2 and 2 3rds which will become lower picks for 25. Not worth it.

Would depend who were trading with? Whats available, how we rate that range ect

What did we give away for H.Jones pick? Bris for Dev Robertson pick? GC for Sharp? Carlton for Stocker pick Ect

Im just trying to find ways on how we can move up which weve said weve wanted to do over the past 3 weeks

If saints get a bid early 20s on an NGA they will probably come for points, how they do that? Who knows

Also dont believe bulldogs will have pick 23 by the time the Darcy points are needed, so who can get that pick?

Do we rate that range where were happy to go early to get that pick. Are there Victorian kids early not wanting to leave the state?

The bulldogs also would want a F2 from 23 as preference so they can move back in if there is someone they really like.

In totality if we can come away with an Early F4, Current mid 4th round and pick 23 (25) for our F2 and 2 x current 3rds id be pretty content with that if were confident enough in that 15-25 group

The more Arlo Draper highlights I watch and read about him, the more I am convinced that he would be an outstanding fit.

Medium forward that just oozes class and can develop the ability to play spurts through the midfield.

If he is there at Richmonds second pick (17 after bids) I would just about offer our 2022 1st to them to get him.

Better reserve "Draper2Draper" while you can.

Ive heard Erazmus isnt vaccinated and not willing to be vaccinated but if we draft him then he will be ok to get a jab
Wait, what? He will get a jab if he is drafted by Essendon but if he isn't drafted by Essendon he won't get the jab. Am I reading this correctly?

If Josh Rachele slips to us it’s a no brainer.

I like the kid but he isn’t the final piece of the puzzle. Could very easily be Ainsworth instead of Butters.

Two trades I can see happening (second dependant on the first):

1. Pick 13 for 17 and 28 (after Daicos/Darcy bids) with Richmond. Only if they have a player they're looking to trade up for.
2. 56 (or wherever it ends up) for Saints F3 if Owens slips outside the 20

Ainsworth can still seriously play

Butters I doubt is that much ahead if the situation was the same as Ainsworths

Happy to be proven wrong on the ainsworth one If he gets time at a successful club as a forward.

Turn the F2 and 2 x 3rds into early 2nd and late 3rd/early 4th (Maybe even add in Saints F4 tied to crows)

It's a shame we weren't mentioned in the interest of Dogs Pick 23 (25) makes alot of sense to me
