I don't trust anything Dodoro releases to the media either. It's usually not true

Which I like, if it's to try and get what we want then it's a tool that's available to all clubs

I'm very happy with Goater like the rest of this board. Also would love Matt Johnson aswell

Don't think Sinns a horrible pick either. One will be available. We'll someone of quality will, we sit in a very good position with our pick

There seems to be a top 15-16 picks that are standing out to clubs

JHF
Daicos
Darcy
Callaghan

Gibcus
Rachelle
Amiss
Mac Andrew
Erasmus
M.Johnson
Goater
Wanganeen Milera
Hobbs
Ward
Sinn (15)

Also don't mind the next group considering the Victorians

JVR WA
Sonsie
Chesser
S.Butler
Willmott
A.Draper SA
Knevitt
T.Brown (23)

Is probably a group of 8 I think can suit our needs outside of JVR

That's why I'd love the dogs Pick 23
Hobbs & Ward at 13 & 14. WOW!

The more Arlo Draper highlights I watch and read about him, the more I am convinced that he would be an outstanding fit.

Medium forward that just oozes class and can develop the ability to play spurts through the midfield.

If he is there at Richmonds second pick (17 after bids) I would just about offer our 2022 1st to them to get him.
I thought he was impressive off hb v.WA as well. Composed and found his targets by foot.

That 23 includes Daicos and Darcy. With them gone you’ve got 21.

Without them he’s listed 21 players.
Yeh so it would become pick 25 ive listed 23

So we could essentially get none of the names i mentioned even by getting that pick but it would be quite likely one is still available at 25 as other clubs will target specific players and after the top 15 the order will be far different per club they reckon

The value is in the outliers. No coincidence Rioli, Pickett, Ryan are premiership players. The high flying ability is so valuable because of how dynamic the game is. You don’t plan for your small to be KPF but if they can it forces mismatches and points of difference. And those p.o.d are where flags are won.

Where and when were they the point of difference in that way?

You can be the point of difference in many ways. Cyril definitely was on multiple grand finals, Ryan in his as well, very small forwards could have taken his mark that set up the winning goal. Even just being dangerous/dynamic enough to change the way a small defender has to play is a point of difference.

eDPS are we any chance of getting Fejo Jnr? Is he on our radar? Are there many other clubs showing interest?
I’ve heard bombers are interested, not sure what they do with the picks after they use the first pick but if he is available later he could be a real chance.

Shifter picks Matt Johnson for us in their annual mock draft. Nice to hear what they think about some of the other players after our selection...the way they talk up some of the other kids it would be good to have another pick.
I don’t think Sonsie gets picked in the 20 odd players they mention.

Richmond initially bid that selection on a key forward and an inside mid and then essentially panic bought him because he is a Rioli, Ryan was a mature aged taken a fair bit later and even though Pickett has come off in spades he’s hardly more than icing on the cake.

We would be very brave to take Rachelle given we haven’t got the cake right yet. It could pay off, but it would be a seriously brave and aggressive selection.

if we'd have padded the middle a little more (Greenwood, Hewett...perhaps even a Dunstan). we possibly have the luxury of adding that scoreboard threat to the side.
I get the feeling we're into a KPF if one is there (i.e. Amiss), otherwise it's a mid at the first pick. And we're aiming to get higher in the draft to look at a KPF/small fwd later (late 1st/early to mid 2nd rd)

my only read on this is how we've approached trade periods of late -> Hill, rumours of King, links to McDonald

Few names we should look at for our later picks.

Jahmal Stretch
Claremont, WAFL / Halls Creek Hawks FC
State: Western Australia
Height: 182cm
Weight: 65kg
Date of Birth: 16/01/03
Small forward with thrilling pace and ‘one touch’ hands making him extremely dangerous around goals. Can push up and play on the wing, he’s pursuing his AFL dream with Claremont after playing with the Hall’s Creek Hawks. Played 13 matches at Under 18s level this year kicking 16 goals and represented Western Australia at Under 19s level against South Australia in AFL Grand Final curtain raiser at Optus Stadium. His outstanding running vertical jump of 93cm at the NAB AFL Draft Combine in Perth ranking him 4th nationally making him a difficult match up with his speed and overhead marking up forward.

Kaden Harbour
East Perth, WAFL / John Forest SC
State: Western Australia
Height: 178cm
Weight: 78kg
Date of Birth: 26/09/03
Small forward who is quick and agile with an impressive natural leap. At ground level he is a one touch player whose second efforts and tackling also strengths of his game. Has progressed to play a couple of Reserves games this year after playing 13 matches at Under 18s level where he averaged 12.2 disposals and kicked 17 goals. Was lively as a small pressure forward for Western Australia in two of its wins over South Australia at Under 19s level averaging 9.5 disposals and 3.5 tackles. His slick 2.99 seconds for 20 meters at the NAB AFL Draft Combine in Perth rounded out his impressive athletic profile.

Harrison Grintell
GWS Giants Academy, NAB League / GWS, VFL / Narrandera FC
State: New South Wales / ACT
Height: 174cm
Weight: 75kg
Date of Birth: 04/11/02
Small forward with speed and endurance who impressed with six goals in three matches in the NAB League for the GIANTS averaging 13.3 disposals. Has the footy smarts and goal sense which saw him then play four matches in the VFL as he then remained in the Hub with the GIANTS as they completed their AFL season in Perth, no doubt benefiting from that training experience. Has remained out of NSW which was in lockdown to play for the Allies against South Australia at the Adelaide Oval in October and was lively up forward and through the midfield with 13 disposals. Rounded out a challenging year recording a 6 minutes and 30 seconds time for the 2km (Strava tested) on the road in NSW country town of Narrandera as part of the NAB AFL Draft Combine assessment.

Alastair Lord
Norwood, SANFL / Rostrevor College
State: South Australia
Height: 181cm
Weight: 75kg
Date of Birth: 26/11/03
Dashing defender who reads the play exceptionally well to intercept and then provides great rebound with his run and carry from defence. Links up well with his fellow defenders and been an efficient user by hand and foot as he’s averaged 22.4 disposals (77% efficiency) playing just five matches at Under 18s level due to injury. Showed composure and class down back in Under 19s matches against both Western Australia and the Allies being amongst his state’s best players. Dazzled at NAB AFL Draft Combine level with his agility time of 7.94 seconds ranked number one nationally.

Hugh Stagg
Glenelg, SANFL / Immanuel College
State: South Australia
Height: 180cm
Weight: 82kg
Date of Birth: 11/04/03
Powerful small midfielder who can break the game open with his acceleration out of the centre. Can also provide a real spark to the forward line with his speed and goal sense not unlike St Kilda’s star Dan Butler. Had splendid season at Under 18s level for Glenelg averaging 24.1 disposals (50% contested) in 14 matches winning the McCallum-Tomkins medal as the competition’s best and fairest player. Represented South Australia in three AFL U19 Championships matches averaging 13.3 disposals. Came from a very sporting family with his mother an Australian gymnast and his father a state representative in lacrosse with his own athleticism showcased at NAB AFL Draft Combine with his time of 2.91 second ranked 4th nationally this year.

Youseph Dib
Oakleigh Chargers, NAB League / Blackburn FC
State: Victoria (Metro)
Height: 174cm
Weight: 76kg
Date of Birth: 25/02/03
Hard edged small midfielder/ defender who is extremely strong in the contest with elite quick hands and vision. An All-Australian at Under 16s level in 2019 drawing comparisons to Collingwood star Taylor Adams, he is a member of the Pies Next Generation Academy with his mother born in Lebanon. Has represented both Australia at Under 18s level and Victoria Metro at under 19s level this year and played consistently with the Oakleigh Chargers averaging 15 disposals (10 contested) across seven matches. Tested soundly for endurance recording a 6 minutes and 32 seconds time in the two kilometre time trial (Strava tested) under the Draft Combine program

We would be very brave to take Rachelle given we haven’t got the cake right yet. It could pay off, but it would be a seriously brave and aggressive selection.

Meant Cyril not Daniel. Still I liked Daniel's testing profile, agility plus endurance and I think he showed in his first year it was a good enough pick. Unfortunately seems to care more about his off-field work.

When it comes to the likes of Ryan, Cyril, Butters and Gulden, those guys are both cherry and cake. Maybe Rachele could be both. For mine I'd prefer NWM, Sinn or Johnson but wouldn't be upset with Rachele.

Unfortunately the players we really need are only Francis-Horne and Callaghan. Everyone in our range seems to be more of a cherry type. Honestly would prefer a player who could be the best in their position even if its a half back like Sinn or a small forward like Rachele, instead of a mid who will likely be a middling type or surplus KPP.

Chesser at 11 is a reach. Plenty of others id take before him.
I reckon they'd have included live trading looking at Richmond's picks. Hough looks like a 40's pick and Howes is a mid second round prospect. I have absolutely no issue with Chesser at 17 if it came down to it

As much I think Howes is an interesting prospect with potential high upside, I don’t think he’s an Immediate need. Other areas need more attention currently.
