Mora at 4 is the logical choice but I cant help thinking that our recruiters have got another surprise in store for us.

If Joel Macdonald nominates for the National Draft, and we do in fact want him, we definitely wont be waiting until our last pick which is what most people seem to have assumed will happen. Macdonald simply wouldn't be around come that pick. North would probably take him at 37 or 41.

If we were to draft Macdonald it would probably be at #36, which is too early in my opinion. Especially with the chance of someone like Craig or even Griffiths slipping to that pick.

We will find out on Wed whether McDonald nominates for the ND. If North want him then they will have to go at 41, Richmond at 44, Freo at 49, Melb at 50. The positive for him being in the draft and us missing out is that Fremantle get a better chance at a youngster. Same applies to Ball who is likely to go to Essendon at 26 - meaning we move up two places effectively from 48/49/52 and up one place at 36.

Players like Thorpe, McPhee, Maguire are likely to go in the PSD.

not sure that CG would be on the radar but unless there is an identifiable attitude problem with Mora cant see why he would not be our 1st pick. Big raps on Joel Houghton no need to worry bout his pace guys he got a football brain but we are supposed to be hush hush on that yeh? Black dont know Troy Taylor probably is good but maybe too soon at 20 think if we would get Black Panos or Butcher or one of the good mids at 20 we are rocking and Houghton later

Good call Wee J I just wish we one of either pick 48 or 49 was under the forties cause Houghton and Luff I think will both go before late forties picks Hutchins would be a good gutsy pickup and think we will get him believe he lead and mtivated the u18 champions is that correct?

I agree pick 36 is to early, if McDonald goes to the PSD Freo could take him with first PSD pick, there is a possibilty that Mcphee ( 3 year contract & $$$$ ) could slide to Freo's second PSD pick

I don't see Nat Fyfe's name bantered about that much. What downside do the Faithful note? He was superb in that Colts grand final. A small sample size, but on that game alone I thought we'd be really keen.

Rookie: Houghton, Stratton, Luff, Bollenhagen

I would be very surprised if Houghton was still available come the rookie draft, simply due to the lack of talls in the draft and his impressive state screening results. In fact I would probably be swapping him and Groenewegen. He had a pretty average season, and is still very much a project ruckman. Guys like Milne, Hannath, Hayward and McCauley would all be better ruck options in my opinion.

And I would not be happy with taking Bollenhagen, even in the rookie draft....

As for Nat Fyfe, I would imagine he will be in the mix for our third rounder. But being that in between height might hurt him, as we will probably be going small and tall.

Both Black and Taylor were available at those picks but obviously our recruiters didn't rate them as highly as the guys we picked.
