If you had've saved 2-3 more trades...you would've got top 100...though it is now looking evident that you are going to finish 600 range...still a good year.

No doubt that you are right - and I have been quite wasteful with my trades.
A learning experience and yet a means to an end for the trades I made early were a deliberate risk to make money to buy highly priced players.
It doesn't look to have paid off at this time because Jon Brown seems unlikely to play many more games at all but I am forced to hang on to him due to lack of trades left. He might come good for me and give me impetus in the finals - which is really all that I'm left to play for. It would be nice to try and achieve a top 200 finish though.

I'm looking for a cheap midfielder ($66,000) who I can get and eventually trade for profit. He won't be in my 22 and I only want him for profit. I've got 6 trades left and want to improve my team before the finals. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on who I can get who will give me good profit.

The cheapest midfielders are $66,500 - a bit hard to give much advice at this stage of the season. If I were forced to make a selection it would be either Mattew Priddis (WCE) or Nathan Jones (Melb) - both at minimum price Priddis has played two matches so will go up in value immediately upon playing his next match - I can't guarentee when that will be though.

Bubblegoose, I think you could think about trading either Maguire or Birchall for a really cheap guy such as Heath Grundy (74,000) which will give you some more money and use that to trade Eddie Betts for a top class player. And then possibly leave your last two trades for later depending on finals.

I'm going to follow Bubblegoose's role and post my team. This week I scored 1581 and the week previous 1956. I'm averaging 1725 and have 4 trades left. In the last few weeks I have been hit hard by injuries and suspenions. I've got 20K in the bank. The side listed is my best 22 but due some factors I've had to bring in some reserves. My reserves are not the greatest due to me trying to squeeze the most into my 22. I'm probably going to have to trade Acker and then after I will try to squezze a bit more into my team by trading M White and W Mills for cheaper guys and then trading either L McPharlin or X Clarke for a more expensive player. That would be my qouta of trades used up so I would have to keep McLeod in my reserves. I will probably get H Grundy for W Mills as my reserve backmen.

Any suggestions on what I should do? I have also being struggling with my captain. However I pick sems to go bad. First I had Lenny Hayes, then Dean Cox, Luke Hodge and Cam Bruce recently. In the past few weeks Cam Bruce has had a bit of a low patch.

With only two weeks remaining in the Dream team season before finals start, it's time to determine whether you are going to make the finals or not. If not use all four trades immediately to improve your squad as much as possible.
If you are likely to play in the finals, then you decide how many trades to reserve. I would use two now. Do what Nico suggested i.e. swap a reasonably priced defender for Grundy, use the proceeds to upgrade a forward (which I think is your weak spot). Don't do it straight away, try and calculate it out - to see if there is a way to get yourself a target player - say Barry Hall

Read what I said to Bubblegoose: are you going to play in the finals?
If so you may want to hang onto McLeod and trade Wayde Mills for Grundy and use the money to upgrade Acker. Leave yourself two trades for the next six weeks.
If you are not going to make the finals or need to do something special to make it, use all your trades to upgrade your team now. I would focus on McLeod, Ackermanis, and X Clarke.
