I know an appreciation for Dustin goes without saying but I just had to start a thread.
1st in rebound 50s in the AFL
1st in total kicks
4th in total marks

Tonight he got a career high 30 disposals.
In Round 5 he had a career high 25 kicks.
In Round 1 he had a career high 9 handballs.
In Round 4 he had a career high 13 marks.

Gun Gun Gun. Wouldn't count on all Australian he always gets shafted.

Hasn't slowed down at all with age we should get to see him for a few years yet. Never wastes one possession.

Fletch is the best Full Back in the comp by a mile.

It's a shame he gets overlooked by many in favour of people like Glass and Rutten but he is way more damaging than any other backman in the AFL.

All the others can do is spoil. Fletcher can do it all...he's an out & out champion.

It will leave a big hole whenever he goes ( he could do a Tuck and go to 37 ) but looks like Ryder is learning a fair bit off the master.

Laycock the laggard continues to convince he's no ruckman. Even Bradley would be be more value.

He hasn't really been playing at FB so I don't think you can say that he's the best Full Back in the comp. But he is one of the best defender's of the comp at the moment and is surely heading for AA honours.

Yeah I guess he's moved away from the true full back position so I'll just clarify my earlier post and say he's the best backman in the league!!

It would be a bloody disgrace if he got overlooked for AA selection this season. Most of the "experts" who pick those teams have forgotten about him recently but the way he's been playing this year should make people stand up and take notice.

He's probably be leading our B&F right now.
He's just everything that represents Essendon and his work ethic and his ability to read the play is just amazing.

Hes in great form, AA form you would think. He repelled attack after attack by the swans and set up our ow attacks, STAR.

I thought Laycock was pretty impressive. Didn't do much, but Sydney's ruckmen didn't dominate like they should of thanks to him and Hille, and it left Paddy down back to give Micky O a bath.

I think it's going to be a close battle with him and McVeigh this year. McVeigh was sensational again last night.

I think impressive is the wrong word. He was solid, he held his own in the ruck.

Having Laycock in the side certianly is convenient and supports our structure, but he's a long way off playing well in my opinion.

He did not help our midfield though, 4 hitouts 0% to advantage.

That bad? I didn't realise his influence in the ruck was that down.

He was, at least, a target at times. However, for some reason our delivery seemed to go to his ankles and he was given very little opportunity to use his height.

yeh our backline structure now is awesome.

You can't judge Michael on his performance alone. What he does for our structure is unbelievable. Fletcher can now simply read the play, which for him is an open book, and dominate. He helps negate the big forward, chops off countless forward thrusts, remains calm at all times, and has an enormous offensive impact on the game. He is an out and out star, and an on-field General.

Not to mention the development that Ryder is making surrounded by these stars.

It's a beautiful thing

if he isnt AA full back at this stage in the season, i dont know who is.
He has only been AA once in his career IIRC. he has never been looked upon favourably for some reason. Its a blight on the whole game IMO.

I just can't believe the opposition coaches the last few weeks have given him the opportunity to be a loose man in defense, who moves in to double team the opposition star forward with Mal during contested marks.
