The Cats host the Magpies on Friday night eAFL at the MCG, in what promises to be a fascinating tussle between positions 1 and 2 on the eAFL ladder.
Geelong is coming off a resounding 38-point win over Brisbane at GMHBA Stadium last weekend, in what was an entertaining battle between two strong teams. Joel Selwood wound back the clock in the match against the Lions, helping himself to 27 possessions, 9 tackles and 2 goals. He was clearly the best on ground, but was ably supported by four goals each from Tom Hawkins and Quinten Narkle.
Meanwhile, the Magpies stumbled against a lowly Richmond side, succumbing by 39 points at the MCG. Taylor Adams was his usual industrious self last week, amassing 15 tackles to go with his 20 touches. Elsewhere, Steele Sidebottom got plenty of the pill (28 possessions) and John Noble could probably have done better than the 4 goals 4 behinds he ended up with.

Key Match-Ups
Tom Hawkins vs. Jordan Roughead
Tomahawk has started to kick goals for the Cats, being a rock in the forward line for them. Roughead had a tough week last week against the Tigers, with young midfielder Jack Graham kicking six snags on him in what was a precocious move from Hardwick. Can the proud Magpie stopper help quell the influence of Hawkins?
Joel Selwood vs. Taylor Adams
Two tackling machines going head-to-head. You just love to see it. But which of these two in-form mids will take the chocolates this weekend? We think the winner of this tussle will go a long way to winning the game for their respective team.
Prediction - The Magpies will be desperate to rebound after last week's disappointing loss, and we think they'll get the win over the Cats to the tune of 11 points.
