today's game has
enhanced prismall chances of a spot in the finals
blake continues to be selfish infront of goal, needs to pass it off
varcoe does not do enough, and that is why he will not play finals
ablett is still not 100%
lonergan has done just enough to keep his spot
gamble will miss finals, but unlucky
stockes will be out next week, with carry over points will miss 1 week
taylor could play forward as well
johnson is coming on nicely
selwood is a gun
ottens is awesome
adelaide or north will get smacked

prismall might end up staying at geelong, all good

Already well known facts. :p
Actually, it has been said multiple times that Taylor can (and has at East Freo) play as a forward and with Egan coming back next year it'll probably be the way he keeps his spot in the side.

For gods sake give the obsession up.
it is not an obsession, as the rest of his game has lifted
but he takes shots when there are players in better position, and today bartel was not happy
blake believes his own publicity

I learnt from today that Bangladesh are crap at cricket - i turned it over for 30 minutes and it was all over.

Byrnes, Varcoe out, Mackie, Kelly in ~ maybe also Gamble out for Wojo.

We were ten goals up. I would have a shot too. In fact, plenty of players have shots from that position. Its not like he was 65 out on a horrible angle with a player tackling him.

I must admit, I liked todays team. Kelly and Rooke for Varcoe and Brynes.

Edit: forgot Mackie missed today too. gamble would be the unlucky one to be dropped you would think.

Varcoe - 15 touches, 3 marks, 4 tackles, 1 goal and 2 goal assists, and yet people are calling for his head.

He had more touches than Chapman today, kicked more goals and set up more. I know Chapman has heaps of credits in the bank, but Varcoe was far from our worst player today.

I'd have thought Varcoe has earnt a spot in the side for another week at least.

As for Blake being selfish, he actually led the team for goal assists today. Not bad for a ball hog.

So he took responsibility for a shot at goal when in a perfect position to do so, and by golly he missed, shock horror. SO WHAT? So did Lonergan, Mooney, Stokes, etc, etc, etc. If he doesn't do that on occasions he becomes entirely predictable, which ain't what anyone wants.

Thought Varcoe did pretty well, as did Prissa. Its definitely going to be hard to pick a side in the coming weeks...

OUT: Stokes (susp) Byrnes (sucks) ???
IN: Kelly Rooke Mackie

Selwood - what a gun.

Did people see the way at the start of the game the way the Eagles where bashing into him and he was just bouncing off. At one point there was a centre bounce and about 4 Eagles tried to bump him to put him off. He just wore it all then tore through the contest and got the clearance.

I heart J. Selwood.

Kudos to Cameron Ling who tore Priddis a new one while collecting 30+ possessions himself.

Ottens is just coming into form nicely and will be a force in the finals coming up against the second tier ruckmen of the league (no Cox, Lade or Hille).

Prismall will probably walk if he gets dropped from here. I couldn't blame him. There probably isn't room for him if everyone is fit and that's just about as stiff as you can get.

Byrnes did nothing to suggest he should be considered when Mackie, Kelly and Rooke come back.

Varcoe OK, without being spectacular. Should be preferred over Byrnes because of the quality of his possessions is better.

Good bounce back by Harry Taylor today. Took marks and kicked so well. The tests come on playing on quality forwards though. Can he beat Roughead (again), Robert Murphy, Cloke, Riewoldt, Hall, etc. in a hotly contested final? I still have my doubts...

Gamble was a bit of a worry today. Obviously having a serious crack but just couldn't make an impact.

With work, I missed the game. Question - looking at the stats, was Chapman injured / get much time on the ground? In such a win, he looks to have played a shocker.

Stenglein did a very good job on him.

Chapman played a full game.

It was a wet miserable day which didn't suit him so much, and he was fairly well tagged in the 1on1 playing style the WCE used most of the day.

byrnes varcoe gamble out
for
kelly rooke makie

woj in prissa out

that is the way it will read, prissa might get a chance with stokes out if suspended
prissa will not walk, as he knows a premiership is worth more than 50 games at the dees

No one is calling for his head; varcoe wasn't bad at any stretch of the imagination today. However, if we go by the asusmption that Stokes wont be suspended, that means Kelly, Mackie and Rooke are due to come back in. So who gets dropped instead of Varcoe, Gamble and Brynes? Prismall and Taylor are really the only two as well, and none of them deserve to be dropped either.

In short, it'll be a hard decision no matter who goes. of course, if stokes does get suspended, you would imagine Varcoe would keep his spot.
