Then why was it included in the report and continued to be brought up?
Surely it holds no relevance anymore considering it was so long ago now?
I didn't say it wasn't relevant. My point is that no single comment from Ed was the cause of his undoing.
The most significant comment of all, perhaps, was the one he used to open Collingwood's discussion of the report. His declaration of a 'proud day' was misinterpreted, no doubt, but it brought an accumulation of factors crashing down upon his head.
There's a lot of unfairness about Ed's departure, but I don't think taking aim at Larissa Behrendt because of something she said about Bess Price 10 years ago will do anything to make things right.
