Hahaha. He IS the swooping Magpie. I know he was upset about not winning the BnF by 50 votes but he's ready to make amends next year. Plus he REALLY wants to win Mr. Roxy next year
Have also heard Elliott to Craigieburn.
Word is he’s started his preseason training by evading swooping magpies while screaming ‘IM TOO GOOD FOR B GRADE!’

Quality side, and very deserving apart from Coletta
Guess it’s just like Fyfe being given 3 votes in a team that was soundly beaten twice.
The Dockers only won nine games. He polled 16 points in losing teams.
How many games did Coletta play in?

Regardless of how many games coaches are voting for the best players in the Comp. Colleta and Hill are the best two forwards in the Comp hands down. Therefore both deserve a spot in team of the year

Your a dreamer, how can someone be picked in TOTY after playing 8 games , if those 8 games he was best on or dominated in those 8 then maybe fair enough,
It makes a mockery of the team of the year when you get in on reputation alone .

So are you saying Alex Rance should be AA this year? He played 1 game and he's clearly the best full back in the competition...Ridiculous comment. Agree he's one of the best in the comp but that's a ridiculous call

I see what your saying. 20 goals in 8 games is decent though. Obviously the coaches saw enough in the 1 game he played against each team.

Coach of the year ?

I’d say Lance or Pat. Roxy coach did well to keep them in the division. However considering finals are not included and it’s voted for pre finals Pat would be worthy to win. Ek from 6th to minor premiers and beat Lance twice in Home and away.

Who votes for coach of the year anyway? Fellow coaches?

Who do you think ?

Great effort by some of the young players in this comp to be acknowledged by the coaches in the TOTY.
Tim Matson still under 19's and had only played a handful of senior games coming into this season. Chircop and Caluzzi also not too long out of 19s I believe also. 3 stars of the comp already. Few boys at the other end of the age scale still getting it done too, Arrow, Brad Allen, Castello.
Few notable omissions in prestia, vistarini (top 2 of last seasons comp medal) and victor micallef (previous comp B&F winner). Bellino maybe a little stiff also after finishing 3rd in the goal kicking.

All the coaches submit a team including a captain and coach. They can vote for their own players but not for themselves as coach of the year

i think Lance due to playing a young side all year and well under 47 pts all year.

Playing a young side of amazing 1 pointers doesnt warrant coach of the year through home and away. I think you got to look at where they were the previous year and where he took them to this year.

That means Mick Mcguanne doesn't deserve coach of they year because he played on 44-47 points and he went undefeated..

No doubt between Lance and Pat in my opinion, Pat had the better of him in Home and away though and it was reversed in finals.

I think Pat will struggle to win it. Talking to people at other clubs his attitude might cost him votes from other coaches. Is that right? Maybe not but think Lance might take it out. Wouldn't count Faz out given the list we had and lack of $$ to recruit after being promoted

I’m going for a roughie, Farrelly from Roxy. Kept them up with three wins with a side full of kids on a shoestring budget

Although staying up is doing a very good job not sure it qualifies for coach of the year, lost by 100+ points twice and lost to the relegated side oak park !
Pat would have to win it finishing 2 games clear on top at seasons end but if you’ve heard him talk at the breaks you would wonder how he’s got a coaches accreditation !

Surely Tulla u/19 coach needs to be considered....

Like I said, just my roughie.....

Agreed. Other coaches might not like Pat, they will probably discount Lance given he's ex-AFL and they might not pick him, DC underachieved probably at Tulla, Jock under achieved at the sharks..... nobody else over achieved apart from Faz. Add to that most people thought we'd come up and try whacking sides instead of playing footy and I think he might have surprised a few with what he's done. Also look at the results first half of the season vs last half. Points conceded (apart from the CB result) would have halved. Think coaches might take the improvement over a season into account
