I thought the score line didn't do the game justice Rupo brought alot of pressure and ran the ball well...was a good game to watch and played in very good spirit.

Rupo will be bigger and stronger next year I'm sure, lots of young players out there...

Played in very good spirits indeed. I just thought the 5 minutes or so prior to halftime and immediately after took the wind out of their sails. The shorter break may have hurt a bit too. Either way, proud of the boys.

So I take it like this, WC beat DP at Shore Reserve, inaccuracy, foreign small field were all factors (so loss not a huge issue for DP). However on the return fixture, on the larger DP home ground and also with Goater and Levi both playing and the Revenge from the first loss a factor. They 100% came out that day to beat WC and beat them well. WC ended up kicking a bunch of behinds in the first half and kept Deer Park in the game, however WC hung on with an after the siren win.

My point of that above story is that Game Two showed that Deer Park can be beaten by a switched on West Coburg.... The first Final between them also had a number of factors:
Deer Park had a harder run than WC into the finals, they had no week off and were charged with a big win over Ruppo. On the flip side WC had a very easy run (resting players) and also had a week off, they potentially were also very complacent due to not having experienced a defeat all season.

The WC that comes out on Sat will be very different mentally to the team that ran out two weeks ago against DP. And DP may possibly have thrown all their cards on the table, for example they hard a very hard tag on Tom Baravi last game, he will come out better for the experience.

Anyway good luck to both, and I am sure it will be a lot closer that many on this site keep saying it will be.

Agree wce06 both teams have a shot at it.

As a DP supporter i believe we gathered momentum as the year progressed and much stronger team in later part of season.
WC are a good team, I do believe DP will win, wont be surprised though if they loose.

Hope its a good game played in good spirits like the first 3 meetings, East Keilor showed on Sunday if you go the rough house tactics and give away undisciplined goals its hard to get them back in a final.

I watched the final from the couch on the replay from the edfl website....

Deer park long and direct moved the ball from back to front with ease no pussy footing around with sideways handball/kick and our bottom tier players stood up ....

WC alot of extra little handballs sideways kicks from their back half which 1 wasn't clean 2 not hitting targets helped set up Deer Park behind the ball and it rebounded numerous times into space with controlled skill execution ..... this has me believing there are different levels obviously .... No pressure on Deer Park we know we are good all the pressure is on WC to see if they can raise the bar to a level to compete.... your not going to stop Goater Greenwood Mundi not to mention Smart Elton and Greenough who dominated the WC ruckman in the final....

The best result for the division is for Deer Park to win on Saturday. Unless Marby spends the same amount of money, the division will be incredibly even in 2024.

Yes, West Coburg and Rupo did great to knock them off twice, but I just think they won't be that cocky again in a GF.

Personally, I think the two earlier games will be much better contests.
