EDFL Division 1 2016

That's what was said about Northern when Division 2 was introduced. They won the Division 1 flag a year later...

How successful in terms of win / loss and ultimately a premiership is now unfortunately solely based on how much $$$$$ clubs can spend. I love the fact that they saints have not spent up big, but have changed nearly most aspects of the club. Wins will come with this group as they are young and play for each other. Best year I've been involved at club even though we won the flag a few years ago, today it's only a stat. None of those players bar 2 or 3 are with the club now, either because of money or bad behaviour / attitude. If the club can get a few more sponsors and recruit a few guys who want to play for right reasons then they will go places, but I fear money is just ruining the local footy.

On Haddy, Unfortunately I'd be surprised if Haddy get up as a club at all next year, a lot of things conspire against them, the fact that the saints have got their act together at junior level doesn't help their cause. I have a lot of time for the haddy old timers, been a great edfl club, hope they can turn it round.

Good Post!

Good Post!

much obliged bang. I've seen how hard the few work down at the saints. They are up against it given the money requirements these days. I do wish some of my tight arse mates would pony up and give a little. Times are tough out there though. Anyway, I've enjoyed the year with everyone and hopefully they can get a win this Saturday. Please, please Tulla....... .....??!!! Good luck to both teams and Tulla in the finals.

Great post goalside. I hope you can retain your list given the fact you will more likely play Div 2 next season. I am hearing the same about Haddy not promising signs for next season. If Craigieburn get beaten this year it will dispel your opening theory in true money ball fashion. Good luck on Saturday

Fair call on haddy mate, will really struggle next year, with only one junior team this year (U10's)and playing players dads in the 2's!! It doesn't look promising. Heard the cricket club had to merge also..may need some old blokes back around to get them back on track

On the Northern side I have been told they have full lists in all tiers and competing well with kids missing out even in the last games.
To me the future looks very bright for Northern, great club, great facilities, good people with a solid foundation just may need some support from the council as was promised.

A Potential councillor was in the rooms tonight being introduced... I'd vote for him if I lived in Moreland city council of it means the club would benefit in terms of facilities

The guy actually raised some good points on how Fawkner in general gets neglected by the council

Certainly will try the soup on at Tulla, get there after half time. Look forward to it.

Who was the guy from council, I'm in Darebin, so don't know too much about Moreland other than from what I hear round the traps and it ain't pleasant especially if you want to build something!!!!

I feel sorry for Hadfield because I know stints in A grade hurt them, but a club with a full compliment of junior and senior sides should never be relegated in a situation like this.

His name was Ali can't remember his surname... Seemed quite genuine

The 5 year plan is for the old little athletics track/oval to become a netball centre with support from Carlton FC.

The public toilet facilities will be updated sometime in the next 5 years!

The clubrooms have been allocated a few million for upgrades again within the next 5 years sometime but that's not 100% assured!

The kids playground might be looked at soon.

No plans for work on the main ground although the upper western sides grounds sprinkler system has been upgraded over the past few weeks.

They've been saying that since the days I played Amos in the early 90's. No different since the saints have been at mutton, other than them continually shifting the dates for upgrades, shifting the dates not one, not two but many years into the future.

This is where social media comes into its own, that fb page has already had some influence in getting immediate repairs done at CMR.

Spending so much up at Jukes Rd and leaving CMR to waste away is a crime, but shows the advantage of playing the political game correctly.

The firework display on New Years Eve could have been a huge earner for the club but the council did SFA to coordinate it. There was thousands at CMR that night for NYE and if some coordination could happen this could become a huge tradition and earner for the club.

Cricket season, nothing to do with the football club, all earnings go to cricket, not that that's a problem, but agree a lot more can be done and should, but again that's why one of the guys on the committee wants all the sporting groups to unite but still factional issues

I'm hearing that is a lot to do with the NS attitude to the other sports at CMR as in CMR is NOT IN North Coburg it's in Fawkner. So calling it the North Coburg/Fawkner sports association isn't cutting the mustard.
Spending money incorporating that name was silly and pure wastage.

I don't hear that at all! You are such miserable sod! Put up or shut up! Nobody gives a damn about the past move on with the future. People like you who have got all to say but nothing to contribute apart from your diatribe. Really.......why this country is in a economic mess, too many people with everything to say, all the ideas, but no practical idea of how to help and make things happen. Roll up your sleeves and stop whining and do something of value!

That would go as a sad sad reply.
I've done a lot but I do it quietly.

Good. Then keep your divisive comments to yourself and keep working hard for the betterment of the people that are there that are are at the forefront of making things happen transparently.

Nobody is talking about that at all... I've never heard it mentioned once...

But since you brought it up... I'm not a huge fan of the name northern but I can understand why it has been chosen as it is a merged club...

Lot of clubs tried rebranding in the past thinking it would appeal to more people but it just doesn't work Laverton changed to western magpies Sandown cobras went to southern Cobras both clubs have reverted back to their original name

The term northern doesn't really specify a particular area the club represents... I'd prefer something a bit more precise but that's just my opinion and is no way a reflection of anyone else's thinking but my own

Thank you so you admit the intention is to revert back to North Coburg ...... which going by the onfield senior results your well on the way.

Trying to put words in peoples mouths and start a rumour created by YOU.
You want to call them fawker park again dont you?!! You can call them what you want and change your colors but I dont believe your attitude would change. You sound like you didnt want the merge to happen.. What league was your club in the year of the merger?
North have been in one of the best metro comps in vic (EDFL) forever and have never folded!.
Never been kicked out of league pretty solid Edfl club.
You should run for president and kick out all your nemesis'.!!

Ffs mate you are a joke. Its comments like yours that create divisions. Or you are a troll.
What can you do better? Nothing, other than be a shitstirrer and backstabber to a new club that you obviously follow.?! Aint nobody got time for that. You are the best we all aspire to be just like you:rolleyes:
