Very interested to hear of anyone that's heard anything re coaching or player movements in the Essendon District Football League.
Know of Alan Ezard going to Pascoe Vale and the whisper that Minton-Connell is heading back to Abers, but keen to hear any other news.

Heard that Meacham is going back to Riddell from Pascoe Vale?? Anyone heard anything of this?

Xavier Codd from Pascoe Vale Panthers to Strathmore, filling the void at Half Bank Flank

Did hear a rumour that Lee James was being looked at by Greenvale, and that it was almost certain... Anyone heard this one?

Any talk about Avondale Heights and douta Stars

What sort of players do these two clubs need to take the next step

Was at a bbq with Jason Dennis last night, the big loaf has definately got the gig at Abers ahead of a few candidates, including Anthony Daniher. They'll still have to recruit a few to improve.

Doutta's need some key pos players. They were just too small this year.
As for Avondale, they aren't that far away. Midway through the last quarter of their semi final clash with Strathmore you couldn't get enough money on the Heights running over the top of them but they just couldn't get there and Strathmore went on to win the flag.
Cameron price back next year will be a big help.

Has anybody heard anything about West Coburg? They had a great season but just couldnt get over the line against Craigieburn in the big one.

Yes its true Sunbury will loose a few of their players. Including Tim Little, Jamie Lobb and ex player Xavier Codd from Pascoe Vale as I stated before, all have been linked to Strathy. Andrew Betz also a former player of Strathmore looks to be returning to the gold and blue along with former favorite son, Dan Madden. This paints an even better picture for the 'mores' title defence in '06'

Will these players leave if Sunbury is promted to the EDFL? This poses an interesting question as they will be in B grade if they move.

Hard to see Tim Little leaving if what I am hearing is true about a nice little offer for him and his brother next year.... See what comes of that.
Dont know how many will leave Sunbury now.. Even if they go to B grade EDFL I think they will retain the services of most.

The plot thickens, i know a fair bit about Little and Lobb being a Sunbury man but i haven't seen much of Xavier Codd since he left 2 or so years ago. Everybody still speaks very highly of him but can he cut it in A Grade EDFL at Strathmore? Can anybody give me any info about him and what he brings to the table??

Rumour has it that Sunbury would go straight into A Grade, in an expanded 12 team A Grade comp. Another club rumoured to be joining the EDFL is Parkside.

I don't think they can join A grade, so quickly as they haven't gone through any qualifications. I don't expect them to expand the competition, due to the success over previous years, why ruin a winning formula.

I doubt it highly that Sunbury will come into the EDFL A grade and then Parkside there is getting to be too many clubs in the competition.

Anyone know who is coaching Keilor in 2006 seems that Callander is not required there next year

Spoke to Tim Little on EDFL GF day. Has been approached by Strathmore, and will talk to them, but does not really want to leave Sunbury.

Two points.
1 EDFL rules state that clubs must have teams at all age levels, including seniors. Parkside have only one junior team. Unless the current EDFL clubs vote to change the constitution, Parkside cannot be admitted to the EDFL. Interestingly though, EDFL officials have raised the prospect of a third division as well!

2 David Callander announced after the prelim final loss that he would step down from the coaching role, but wanted to continue on with the club in some other capacity. Bit of accuracy in statements please.

Caveman,

West Coburg, prior to their GF loss, on the assumption that they would go to A Grade, were trying to get, from Keilor, Rosios (ruckman) Houchar, (on baller & two time EDFL Agrade B&F winner), and Kaakour (small on baller). From East Keilor, they were trying to get Flavell, small forward. All had played with West Coburg previously. As WC did not make it into A grade, their drawing power diminishes. Rooster, who made a come back mid year, may also quit, not wanting another year in B Grade.
