Turbos mail 22 players for thirds footy but can't field a reserves side
Pretty p!ss poor by Pascoe Vale
What is the reason
Even Deer Park fielded a 2's side
You have an opinion on everything so I like forward to your reply
PV also "had" a 2nd U18 team IARC - Big stank at Raeburn.
Told DP had 13 players last week at EDS who let them play until 6 U18s turned up. 1s Greg Normaned to SM today
EK 2s out for the year - But the club has a pulse, 90+ at ladies day today. It aint broke yet!
AH U18s out for the year - we're so good, lets play in A grade
GV lucky for EK - smoked in all games today (4 kicks to 35 in the 1s)
Abers still in this (captain snagged 4)
Mores still in this (38pp v 45)
Marby - hmmm (maybe the Marby Barby wasn't on today?)
APW - surprise result much?
KFC - engrave the cup already!

Trent McKenzie a huge out..
The only reason Trent McKenzie didn’t play was as a 6 point player he could not be selected from a Player Points perspective with the return this week of Josh Chatfield (5 points) and Hayden Gill (4 points). What outstanding List Management from $$$$$ men at Deer Park - obviously Trent still received his match payment but was not required to run around in the twos and assist their “highly competitive” 12 o’clock team. A complete basket case of a club and delusional that they can continue to recruit high point players each year from the VFL but continue to ignore recruiting and developing from within.

Not sure that a spot in the Elimination Final is a great return from $450,000 to $500,000 spend !!!!

Yeah/nah.

Well, what was it this week?
Must have been the umpires, or the weekly 13-15 best 22 out injured, or perhaps the state of the ground, even though it’s your ground. Or maybe all of the above. DP certainly couldn’t have been beaten on their merits, could they?
We all know the reason. The dim sims in the canteen were slightly overcooked. Also the salt for the chips wasn't Saxa brand and they only had Black and Gold from Coles so that's the reason behind the poor performance. Will still make the grand final because the canteens at finals venues will have improved by then

Couldn't make it to headquarters today due to premiership reunion commitment and my mail is as follows.
1. Depleted Deer Park team took the field against a red hot Strathmore
2. Strathmore have a grand total of 6 supporters
3. Strathmore play a fancy style of football that does not stand up when the pressure is really on from teams like Keilor. Sideways , backwards, chip chip woodchip works well against a non cohesive unit but not when it matters against well drilled disciplined teams like Keilor. My mailman told me 'Stathmore are a team of pretty boys who play pretty football pretty well".
In closing Deer Park are playing finals and make no mistake the opposition better be praying that everything goes in their favour because Deer Park are proven premiership winners across both the edfl and WRFL and hit another gear come finals time.
* Absolutely loving everyone's obsession with Deer Park. Thank you.

The whole club is building .... 3 yrs 1 flag 1 finals series and 5 new JNR teams #FACT

The Longblow to point 3: that pretty football worked pretty well against your pretty ordinary mob today!

I heard DP had a terrible canteen today and the Goldies will be sacking staff for the next home game (no more pitta bread for the hot dogs bruiser). Rabbit holes will be filled and broken scoreboard will be patched. Spare fridge in the away rooms will no longer have "Snowtown" labels.

I know that you love your mercenaries but you really don't help yourself with this rubbish. There'd be few people that feel Deer Park (& EK) haven't aggressively broken the rules.

On another note, since you like to chirp about clubs not fielding a full complement of sides, I imagine you'll be teeing off on Pacco?
Not great by Pacco pulling reserves.

Have to agree here. Not involved at a committee level but this has been mentioned many times in conversations had with people at high levels of involvement. Coming from a sponsor before, l have voiced my concerns regarding there decisions long term. I certainly would prefer a more balanced approach of players introduced to the club with an eye on younger players.
Unfortunately those in power are hell bent on instant success which definitely limits the development over time and the points ledger is always on a knife edge. Hopefully some changes or a more balanced approach with player recruitment in the years ahead.

As for money well spent you could say the same for almost every club who doesn't win it tbh. Knowing what l know on particular players at other clubs the season pay roll at most of the clubs in premier division would be a bitter pill to swallow if nothing to add to your trophy cabinet at seasons end.

Sad Inside Out GIF

Apw r comn there getn players back won easy look good an Hanson young quiet
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Marby had a few out and APW finally got a few back in. What a great contest coming up for APW v Douttas. Douttas are a bit of a bogey side for APW, but they did beat them there last year. Great opportunity for both clubs.

Thats not true. It was with Gameday, but i;ve been told by a number of people that the new system is a bugger to use and its quite easy to start the game (only if you are a team manager or approved admin) and then accidentaly finish it by mistake and then not be able to fix it. In short, PLayHQ is not as forgiving as Gameday.
That’s not correct, I stand in the crowd and do live scores from my phone every week, all the while drinking cans with the boys

The 18s are sh1t even in Div one, it’s a very long expensive road ahead for DP to be competitive in Premier Div.

All those premiership one point players are coming to their end shortly too

There 16s are competitive in Div 1. But the top 5 kids in their best players are all new to the club this year. Some look like their travelling a fair distance👀

Is that deer parks biggest loosing margin at home?
Also a Rumour going around the pub yesterday is that a recent Strathmore premiership coach will be back coaching the mores next year after a few years away

More to come next year ....
Seems like Deer Park is a destination club for juniors who aren't playing in the best leagues ....

So a bit like what some of Keilor's juniors do, then?

Google Translate:
"Airport West are coming. They are getting players back. They won easily and are looking good. ** Something something about a shitty 1990s band that had shitty songs that are nothing better than offensive earworms** "
Well done

Going to be brutally honest with you lot today. Local footy is on the precipice. Reserves participation is a very good guide to the future of local footy. We have real issues unless you are an attraction club defined by what I call "throw the leg" attraction. That is a club who attracts young men from local schools who are followed by their female schoolfriends who are essentially trainee wags. If you are not one of these clubs you are in real trouble going forward because How do you attract players in all grades these days of average to good ability who may grow to be very good players?. I just don't see it happening in the modern world. Forget about the ex afl money grabbers who would sell their mums for 5 cents who turn up at a club for a year or 2 and then depart never to be scene again.
Look at the clubs we support and I ask you are all the heavy lifter volunteers over 50 ?. What happens in 10 years time?
Now the points system needs to be looked at because it is destroying football clubs future in reality. I am not suggesting total removal of the points system but perhaps an upgrade along the lines of each club is entitled to the same maximum level of points not including a maximum of 4 x maximum 6 pointers outside that cap. You can have 24 points to use on any 4 players only above and beyond your standard 45 points and those 4 x players do not go into the salary cap. Would lift the standard and make the competition very interesting. Any thoughts?.
Perhaps the aflpa can administer the payments for those 4 x 6 pointers out of their future fund?. Pricks have endless money at afl so get them to spend it in the heartland.
