Keilor playing St.Albans at Overnewton in all grades Saturday morning
Was there last night for a game, surface was pretty good, ground quite short will may create congestion although wide enough to practice shifting the ball and/or the opposition defence if it's team based.

No toilets down where the guys got changed so lay off something Friday night that may sneak up you :p

No money exchanged hands between the clubs. Not that silly.
Not quite true. Well loose lips sink ships lets just say. Dennis was very clear with anyone interested that EK had advised him NO Clearance will be issued unless your contract is purchased. You say no money changed hands, i say whatever was exchanged forms part of the cap.

Anyway who cares. The league only encourages the spending as they basically kissed Mcguanes as$ yet they gave Burnside a whack a d they didn’t even make finals let alone win a premiership..

Given the interest in recent developments from further afield, I'd say everyone. The powers that be appear to want to be seen taking it seriously.
There was speculation about Pacco's expenditure prior to the acquisition of Dennis, who gets paid a significant amount wherever he goes.
It could be above board but it'd be understandable if they were to have a look into it.
I'd imagine that other clubs of means that get busted will also lawyer up.. on exposed form, HQ don't appear to have the appetite for a fight.

the past couple of weeks says to me a lot of people care.
keilor have chosen there defence where bunrside owned it.
if we think there isnt other clubs being looked at we are all delusional.
it will be more about how serious the EDFL are in all this as they have been quite poor and inconsistent on the two cases so far.

I have been told that six clubs statewide are currently involved in investigations and we will see more clubs that don't make grand finals getting investigated.

What I got out of that last part was that maybe the investigation officers will turn up at clubs unannounced and say "show us your books" a lot more often moving forwards. Maybe they might even start identifying and approaching clubs where the numbers might not seem to be adding up. Trainstop and BF would be a good start to help give them a clue (but they are not the be-all and end-all).

That would be the first signs of proactivity these employees have done in years instead of waiting for clubs coming to them after reaching a grand final and self-reporting when an audit begins knowing they'll get caught.

Investigators would walk into the Deer Park club and everyone would point at the Tab terminal. Great system

Hey BJ, the league had a great chance to put the foot down with the keilor one but they didn’t so now it’s just a big joke. Even if another club was found to be over you get a slap on the wrist but then again they have always favoured Keilor so who knows. That decision was an absolute joke for a club who won the premiership and were over and only got stronger the year after being 2025. Oh yeah let’s say they were under in 2025 compared to 24.. I’m not for the salary cap as it’s a joke but just gets all of mad when they talk up a big game but actually bent over and kissed Keilors a$$.

On current form the EDFL board folds like a pack of cards when they see a suit or barrister wig!!

Murray league club Rumabalra over by 54K, (finished 10th of 12 sides). Fine of about 30K, no salary reduction or points for 2025. From reports they self-reported

I don't think anyone disagrees that Keilor were not penalised appropriately for season 2025 and beyond. I think most also agree the salary cap needs to be reviewed / scrapped. However in 2025 it still remains and some clubs should be nervous given the put themselves in lights with some of the action they have taken in recruiting high profile players

Not surprised by how much talk on here about the Salary Cap and Keilors punishment… but surprised not many talking about the fact that it was cleared and ticked off in 2023 and then somehow in Feb 2025 it’s suddenly not ok anymore…

I don’t think we have the full picture on the circumstances

Mentioned this more than once. Doesn’t make sense.
Hid the overs from ‘23, got ticked off. Obviously were over ‘24 also otherwise nothing would have been raised. Very lucky to still have the ‘24 flag.

Keilor $475
Strathmore $595
Pascoe Vale $450
Doutta Stars $450

That’s the ones that I know of, Abers would be every bit the same + sports club membership. Imagine Greenvale wouldn’t be much different.

I played at Keilor Park in the era when we held our own against Keilor. The closure of the primary school and demographics damaged the junior program and now Keilor has 3-4 junior teams at each level.. The totally obnoxious irony is that Keilor Juniors are training on the KP #2 oval.

KP are doing a lot of great work to restart their junior program and will be charging $200 per child…
