Fantastic job Matt and obviously it will create a lot of debate. Would be a sensational squad to pick a team from.

A great read and well worth the look, is sure to create a bit of discussion/banter.
It was only upon looking at the list and some of those who missed out did I realise how many class footballers are running around in the EDFL.:thumbsu:

Round 1 Tips
Pascoe Vale to get their first win over Essendon Doutta Stars.
Greenvale will show their strength over Avondale.
Marby Park to set Craigeburn up for relegation.
Keilor will be better for last week & show Oak Park they have work to do.
Strathmore will get another win on board over Abers.

Tips:
Pacco by 4 goals over Doutta
Greenvale by about 10 goals over Avondale
Marby by 6 goals over C/burn
Oak Park in a close one over Keilor
Strathmore by 5 goals over Abers.
Some great games there.

The A Grade top 50 is a powerpoint slideshow. It can't be accessed from an iphone or ipad so use a laptop or PC. Click on the grey area, there are 15 slides in total.

I just visited Matty's site. Fantastic effort, I don't know how he finds the time with a full time job, young family, a position on the EDFL board and the contributions he makes to most clubs.

I thought Matty's assessment of A Grade was great. Ayres is a star and worthy of No.1. Bicer I think is a few years past a top 10 position. Dylan Joyce is a bit low at No.41 considering he was Keilor's best last year and is making his debut for Bendigo Bombers this week in the VFL. Daniel Burns doesn't make my top 200. He can't win his own ball and is basically a Hayden Ballantine type. He hasn't played well in a big game yet.

Is Daniel Mangan back for Abers? He would qualify in my top 30 recruits if so.

Otherwise, well done Matty and I encourage everyone to view his website and comment on his assessment.

Give oak park a call

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if there were any clubs looking for a once was qualified trainer looking to get back in to the craft and maybe earn some extra pocket money. I can send some references if you would like to know more information Please pm me

Thanks

Great game at Strathmore today in front of big crowd. Moores snuck home 15.14 to 15.7. Abers are certainly the real deal and will be there at the business end of the season. They have recruited well and are an extremely tall team. Fanning played a good game first up. Abers hit the front in the last quarter kicking with the wind, however Strathmore were able to steady and just got over the line.

Watched the Craigieburn v marby game today, Maryb did it easy on the scoreboard winning by 10 goals. Personally didnt think the game warranted a 10 goal flogging with inside 50s comparable. Marby looked very big vs a very young side, Craigieburn had a very crack wining their fair share of contested footy led by Baker but lacked the tall forwards and touch of class around goals.

In Summary Marby will be around the mark again without dominating and Craigieburn will fight hard most weeks but come up short with the lack of foward power they had today

Watched Doutta's v Pacco. Really good game. Pacco got up by a goal. Loads of cramping in the end which isn't surprising given the size of the ground.

I thought both sides played pretty well, EDS in particular given people had written them off already. How will the go for the rest of the season? Staying up will probably be their main goal.

The size of the ground does account for how much cramping that went on out on the ground. All players tried hard and them cramping just shows how hard they went at it.
Noticed that both the young field umpires were also suffering cramp, but had the VFL Umpires recruiter watching over them, and he seemed impressed.

I've seen one of those guys in the juniors. Both had very good games in a tough encounter.

Going square eyed trying to read and make sense of the quarter by quarter breakdown of the scores on the EDFL website. For the first 3 quarters they list behinds first then goals. Only at the end do they list the goals first then behinds. Hopefully just a programming error which will be rectified.

Oak Park belted Keilor at the house of pain for such as massive turnover of players Oak Park has to be the most resilient club in the league,Keilor ordinary and undisciplined.

Looking forward to the clash this week between pascoe vale and oak park. Pacco will be unveiling the flag and will really see where they are at in A grade. Always a fiery encounter between the 2 teams

The B Grade Top 50 has been released on the front page of www.edflfooty.com

Please have a look and give feedback here on the brilliant research and work from Matty.
Just had a look at the website www.edflfooty.com and very impressed. Matty has done a fantastic job with both A grade and B grade top 50, aswell as new recruits.

Its actually a great website with tips every round and info on every club.

Great website for the league.

Well done Matty P

Yep played a couple of seasons CHF in 2009 Premiership team, hammys pulled him last couple of years can play, also 2 more oakers boys in London for olympics onballer and CHB

Paco played really well yesterday against Oak Park. Paco were leading all day and were 4 goals up at 3qrt time and ran out of legs against a very good team. Paco will surprise afew teams this year. Well coached = Bicer and Paxman.

Massive hole in Aberfeldies depth, the twos seem to be struggling, many loyal club members responsible for the reserves recent succesful history departing due to an open chequebook policy? could cause big problems when big name recruits leave, thoughts?
