Full list of the Vic Metro boys, goodluck to them this weekend.
Needless to say it will be interesting to see the depth of each team with all the injuries the have happened at the start of this season.

Sorry, does anyone know where the country / metro game will be played and at what time. Would love to go and have a look.

I also watched the West Coburg and EDS and it was a great game to watch. Clearly both teams really wanted the win and we're striving to get he points. West Coburg out-ran EDS for most of the game although EDS out-marked West Coburg and nearly every contest. Cam Rayner killed it throughout the whole game but credit to Pat Martin for stopping Rayner and putting pressure on him throughout the whole game even though it must of been very difficult as Rayner is such an athlete. Josh Rocco also played a great game winning many centre clearances and always being around to help out his team mates and always in to get a hard ball. Mark Furnari stopped multiple goals in the backline playing as a loose man. Also another good game from Mark. Caluzzi had a pretty quiet game with it being his lowest scoring game so far this season with only 1 goal. Credit to him still because he was being tagged the whole game by one of the West boys. Jayden Murat was also a good target for West Coburg when he was up front taking some great marks but it was just too bad his kicking was a bit off. West Coburg are a very underrated team with some very underrated players and I'm sure they will go well this year.

Totally Agree here.
Rayner and Rocco were fantastic.
West Coburg to get some key players back in and to make this league very interesting.

Fixture hasn't came out yet but I've gotten news from the edfl that both Moonee Valley and Westmeadows have been promoted leaving Strathmore and Greenvale to battle their way up the div 2 ladder.

My understanding is that Greenvale down to Div 2 & Westmeadows promoted to Div 1 is the only change to the Div 1 competition.
Think you will find this will come out tomorrow or Thursday.

Can understand greenvale being dropped to div 2 but why strathmore. They were starting to be very competitive. If you are correct then my sympathies go out to strathmore. Strathmore will win div 2 grand final and moonee valley and west meadows will struggle.

Certainly agree with your comments regarding Strathmore. I watched them play on Sunday and whilst being outclassed, they will certainly continue to improve throughout the season. I have previously spoken to their coach and he was very strong on not going down to Div 2.
Will be really interesting to see how Westmeadows go in Div 1.
Does anyone have any info on Westmeadows?

Not too sure about strathmore being dropped but I'm sure some of their players would be pleased. They would win the div 2 grand final I suspect. Moonee valley and westmeadows are going to be underrated if they do get promoted. But I'm sure thoughts will change as both teams have some quality players. Not as sure about moonee valley though.

Fevolution14, if the edfl put eds or keilor against westmeadows too often they will look like fools. Here's an idea Mr Turri -
R5 eds v keilor
Abers v west coburg
R6 keilor v west coburg
Eds v abers
R7 eds v west coburg
Keilor v abers
R8 Refer to R5
R9 refer to R6 and so on.
At least then you will not have large margins.
The real loser out of this (u/16) is westmeadows. Going from their 15 and 16 KIDS playing in a grand final in div 2, to not even making finals. Well done edfl

The word is that as westmeadows and mooned valley drew two weeks ago and only percentage separating them they chose westmeadows because they have 2 under 16 teams where moonee valley only have the 1 team.

They take 14 points with them into div 1. Wins against strath more hillside twice. And steal a victory off one of craigieburn or west coburg and there is your 8 wins and a draw.

Canplaythisguy so what your saying is because MV only have 1 side then they can stay in div 2 but because westmeadows have 2 sides then they can go to div 1. I thought the idea of regrading was about results not how many sides a club has.

I would be shocked if westmeadows wins more than 2 games in div 1. If eds ever manages to have a near full side they would beat westmeadows by 20 goals licking against the breeze.
I sincerely wish westmeadows all the best but I would think they will be contacting the edfl because they just lost a flag to hang in the clubrooms. Another display of stupidity on the Edfl's behalf.

Div 1 craigieburn 24%and marby park 17% both with nil wins. They remain in div 1. Div2 in u/12's , airport west 800% and oak park 410% both undefeated and remain in div 2.

Wasn't aware of the eds v abers tradition on Mother's Day. Once again a disappointing decision by the edfl.
Please don't get me wrong I wish westmeadows the best. I must admit I know nothing about any of their players so maybe I may be proven to be wrong BUT Teams like eds have 2 all Australians, another 3 or 4 future stars, keilor have close to the best under 16 player in victoria(IMO) plus numerous other top end players and abers have 5 in metro sq's and a kid who is desperately unlucky not to be in the metro team being Ben S.
The teams being moved around do not bring their % only their points. In westmeadows case it's irrelevant because they had a draw.
Let's wait for the next silly decision from the edfl. We won't have to wait too long no doubt.

The two clubs need to do something about it, the edfl won't budge otherwise.
West Coburg vs Keilor would be another tough game that hasn't already been played, so I don't see why they put the bottom sides against each other it won't pull as much of a crowd compared to a big div 1 game - rematch of last years grand final? How could you let that pass Marc Turri?

Yeah that's what I believe and if so I think it's right because the only other team good enough to come up would have been Moonee Valley and both teams are undefeated so I like the decision.

Outrageous the eds abbers traditional mothers day game not on. Shame on the EDFL. This is a game that raises funds and awareness for cancer victims and should be fully supported not tossed aside as it has been!
