Roughead and franklin were handy picks.

Walsh’s stats from yesterday

0 kicks 0 handballs 0 efficiency

Named on Thursday, not listed as injured. No idea why he was a withdrawal.

Suffice to say the Falcons really missed him as that meant they were missing 11 players, and end up losing after leading by 5 goals at the 18 minute mark of the second term.

Dragons were only missing 46 players mind you. :p
not sure there was a top ager who will play afl from that game yesterday

He’d want to improve a fair bit then.
My thoughts are he tends to play better when Walsh and McHenry are in, but disappears/doesn't have the impact when they are out (more attention/responsibility).

With the final Vic Country squads named here is my best 24

B WILL HAMILL KYLE REID BROCK SMITH
HB OSCAR BROWNLESS CONNOR IDUN LACHLAN ASH
C ED MCHENRY JYE CALDWELL ZAC FOOT
HF XAVIER DUURSMA BAILEY WILLIAMS ZANE BARZEN
F IRVING MOSQUITO HUDSON GARONI JAI NANSCAWEN
R RILEY BOWMAN SAM WALSH TOM BERRY
I SAM FLANDERS MITCHELL RIORDAN SAM FLETCHER
SCOTT CARLIN HAYDEN YOUNG CHARLIE SPRAGUE

Bendigo: 1
Dandenong: 8
Gippsland: 5
Geelong: 5
GWV Rebels: 2
Murray: 3

i would like to see bailey williams play as ruck. unfortunately hes too competent as a forward as well.
They will rotate him and Bowman although Bowman is better at FF than CHF

Purely selfish but did you notice how the Lions academy boys went?
Connor McFayden the clear standout, he looked very good when attaking the contest. Kicked 4 goals and could have had more.

Needs to do some work of the ball I don’t think his running is at a high enough standard but get that right and he could be a steal for you guys late.

CalT mentioned Brownless playing well.. I keep seeing Idun selected as KPD ..how tall is he ? Is he more of HBF type in afl?
Brownless was good early but was quiet after that, Idun was solid down back but yeah he is a bit undersized at 190cm playing a tall role. I think he is a late pick/rookie at this stage

Mmm its a bit of a shame then that kids tall enough to play the role in afl..will not get a go in the u18's.

As a mid ..who or what type of mid is OB... outside ball user type?

Brownless is slightly more inside but he will be more of a flanker at AFL level I reckon, he has nice hands and moves well and he used his voice and smarts to help his teammates

I worry about players who are not absolute contested beast no... the game has become borderline rugby... you need to be a trench fighter to play it well.

Did any of the Allies underagers (2019 draftees) impress

Not many played. Budarick, O'Neill, Green, Delahunty and Rayner where the only bottom agers. I didnt mind O'Neill through the middle in the first game.

The next rankings update will be next monday, top 10 should be mostly unchanged. A few bolters and sliders a little later in the order, some performances in the practice match on the weekend have either improved or lowered their position.

I will also bring up a few players that are very close to making my top 50 or have been their abouts for awhile that played on the weekend.

Angus Hanrahan
Michael Mummery
Scott Carlin
Sam Fletcher
Will Kelly

Hey D_P_S

Can I ask what your reasoning behind not having Bailey Smith in the top ten is?

Seems to have a hell of a lot going for him.
It’s hard to drop someone out of the top 10 at this stage you could make a case for a number of players to fit in there
