Wanted to ask, obviously we've seen Dumesny and Poulter move up for you with the two SANFL rounds so far, any other SA prospects that have made progress in your rankings further down? Lachlan Jones has impressed me, and as someone that was sleeping on Newchurch previously he's another that has made significant movement.
On the flip side I've been underwhelmed with Schofield so far

I’ve been telling everyone for ages that Schofield isn’t the 16yr old player people were raving about.

His first game this season was dreadful. When I started to watch the 2nd half of yesterday’s game his stats said he was in everything, and he had some great touches in the 3rd before disappearing in the 4th Qtr.

he’s far too small (not just height, look at his body shape compared to Neale, Neale is wide through the shoulders and hips, thick thighs). His body is extremely compact and has Daniel rich arms. He doesn’t have any future playing onball or around contests at afl level.

he would need to become a travis boak level gutrunner to make it to 100+ afl games. Then he could use those skills on the outside. But we’re not seeing that in his game at the moment.

jones I like. Is a Brock smith type prospect where he just does low possession shutdown jobs.

Poulter had another strong game. Love his physical attack on the ball in the air or contests. I don’t know what he can be in the afl when he’s on the slower side. Up forward he’s not quick enough off the mark to beat afl defenders and can he be a slower mid?

thilthorpe is a rowan Marshall clone to my eyes.

who’s got an afl future? Powell liddy chamberlain or Murphy? Ive been watching these blokes but need to see more.

Jones for sure, he should come into my top 25 at the end of the month and Dumesny is there abouts.

Newchurch is in that 20-45 mix with plenty of others

Schofield is struggling in a poor side, he hasn’t got the size and tools as someone like Poulter to play well no matter the conditions, I’m sure he would stand out more in a team like Glenelg where he would play mostly on the outside and show his elite skills. He is making it hard though to justify me having him at 20.

If someone actually did bid a Top 5 pick for Campbell I think I'd prefer to pass at this point ITBT.
Not a chance in hell I’d pass on Campbell personally

We'd take him if there was that possibility and I could see us definately bidding.

He'd be my #1 preferred mid outside of Hollands.

Would be a grave mistake to pass on campbell.
I'm just not convinced he's in the Top 5 players in the draft at this point. Admittedly the top-end is more in flux than usual so I suspect Sydney don't pass.

No. The kid is genuine. He’s the athletic package, great burst of speed and power. He has that wide frame through shoulders and hips of Neale and thighs that you can see he uses when he bursts. Teams will have to get bodies in front of him at stoppages cause I reckon after a couple of preseasons if you try to get an arm across him as he bursts through good luck holding on.
Would trade Schofield and jones for him in a heartbeat

And he has one of the best kicks you’ll ever see.

Taking over from Pie 4 Life with the Draft Central rankings here is Michael Alvaro’s Top 20 going into this years draft. Be sure to give him a follow on Twitter aswell as he knows his stuff and a lot of the great work from Draft Central also comes from him

Whilst I like the idea of potentially getting the best player in the draft at 3, I don't think most Freo fans could enjoy Hollands coming off Morabito and Bennell.

Would go into every game thinking this is the one where he blows his knee again.

I did the same with Hanners

Before Rendell mentioned Max Heath where did you honestly have him draft range wise Lenny?
It’s difficult to put a range on him after only watching 1 game, all pre-season games have vision for scouts I’m pretty sure so Rendell would have the advantage of being able to replay that footage and pick out everything he did where as when I was watching he wasn’t even on my radar so didn’t put in the time for puting a lot of notes down for him.

I had him as 45-late mostly because he wasnt in the academy so hard to put him higher yet but he was very impressive from what I remember seeing and think he could be a genuine top 30 chance if we get some more games out (Hoping the issues in Victoria right now don’t effect the school games as he was set to play in those aswell)

Here is my profile on Heath again for those interested, if you can find a player comparison from those attributes go ahead haha

Max Heath
202cm 89kg
Ruckman
DR: 45-Late

Strengths
Competitiveness
Overhead marking
Tackling
Skills
Clean hands
Size

Queries
Endurance
Production

  • Heath certainly knows how to make an impression, he was a force in the practise match I saw early in the year his aggression in the air and even at ground level was very impressive and even his smarts and skills looked fairly sharp for a player of his size, his endurance is way below what’s required at AFL level but with his size and marking ability he would be a handy option as a ruck/forward

Pro-tip to everyone asking about specific players.

There is a search function, where you can even limit the search to this thread, it will help you easily find player profiles eDPS has already done without the poor guy having to find them for you

And another bit of info for everyone, I’ve done profiles for every Academy Hub listed player. A high chance you won’t see a potential top 20 player at the end of the year without a profile I’ve already done.

With the hard 6 week lockdown now for metropolitan Melbourne surely everything including school footy and NAB League has to be in real doubt?

Yep, really thrilled about it....

Non-VIC prospects about to dominate top 20's all around the country
I’m sure those from those states will be happy with the lack of vic bias for once :p

Well maybe not for WA since we still can’t get footage from those stingy bastards

Again, WA give access to footage and make it easier for us, that's just ridiculous :p

It'll be good to have VIC kids slide and have Will Phillips to Richmond become a reality :'(

If I was to build a team I would almost solely focus and skill and composure. I'm sick of watching a dumb midfield.

That being said, I like the sound of Macrae. What makes him rated outside of the top 10?

Lack of athleticism and contested game are what holds him back from my top 10. He could only play the role which was given to him though last year and looked forward to see what he could do playing a more inside role this year for Oakleigh.

He did have very underwhelming testing numbers, especially agility (8.90).
