No, I'm pretty chill. Either it's banned in which case we'd have heard about it or it's not in which case **** off, #whateverittakes
Yep.

If we had been using PEDs we'd have been caught a long time ago. I'm gonna bet that it was something right on the borderline of being legal, something which many other clubs may be doing as well, and that we may get a slap on the wrist or some sort of minor penalty for it.

Am I the only one that isn't actually worried?

It's funny, I have that feeling of it's not a big deal (in a sense of club banishment) I really don't know though, we could bet Stormed

Yep, getting players to sign waivers over the drugs they are getting injected is nothing to worry about. Sure no one except for this one fitness guy knew about it.

Correct.

The players most likely were told one thing, and the sports scientist guru knew something else obviously. Every single AFL player visits their clubs doctors on a regular basis for treatment. Nothing different here, except our sports scientist guru was doing the wrong thing. Unbeknown to the players.

Hope the club goes hardline to anyone who knew or should have known ( or turned a blind eye). This club has been too soft on events which have tarnished the brand of the Essendon Football Club (e.g. betting scandal).

I like this. Punishments first, facts later. #whateverittakes

Did you misread the context of his post. We're talking about players taking supplements which are questionably legal. Bringing up creatine implies he thinks it may be.

Yeah... he said:

hopefully it's just something like creatine, which AFAIK is still legal. Promotes muscle gain but often leads to muscle tears (sound familiar?)

Nathan Buckley loved the stuff, hence his continued hammy issues

Comprehension not your strong point?

Whilst I don't see us being stupid enough (hopefully) to be in major trouble.. this is exactly the kind of thing you don't want ruining a season that hasn't even started..

Also might help explain why we went from heroes to trash in three short weeks.....

My biggest gripe is, traditionally, the AFL drag these things on for ages and ages, meaning the focus may be off the team and its performance for longer than necessary - see Melbourne Tanking Affair.

Media just love the feeding frenzy.. I'll bet there will be more than one story this year that mentions "The Bombers, amid a drug scandal, have had a training session today", "Essendon, who is in the middle of a drugs investigation, played well today with a grey cloud hanging over the club.." and so on.. annoyance.

Did you not listen to what Hird said at all? he stated very clearly that from what he knew, whatever the players were taking, he thought they were all legal. So the sports scientist guru was clearly going behind the clubs back without the coaching group knowing what was really happening.

Did you not read what I said?

You seem to know what's going on so is there much to be worried about? Is there anything in these match recovery substances that you speak of that could be performance enhancing?

Hope you are correct.

If it was as bad as what some haters are saying, it would have come all out long by now. So no, as I've already said twice, we'll just et a warning & a fine from the AFL. Borderline illegal/legal things that were used though.

Word coming out now it was Lonergan, Slattery backing him up with it all.

just to be clear, you're talking about this?

A former Essendon player has told Channel 9 that the club knew it was pushing the boundaries with its program.

"From what they were saying, it was right on the borderline of what they were going to give us," he said.
"Everyone signed it, it was a personal choice as to whether they took it. " ... it does seem very odd the type of stuff we were taking. "They admitted to us it was right on the edge of the levels you could be taking."

to think they didn't hurt the club enough when they were there

Obviously the players in question thought they were better players than what 99.99% of the afl thought they were. They were sacked, not given new deals. They chucked hissyfits and dobbed the club in regarding their 2012 fitness program.

In all honesty I'd be pretty ****ing pissed off if I lost my job because I was unwilling to cheat. *Obviously they weren't good enough but they wouldn't see it like that.

I can also guarantee this is only a start of things to come. Pies & Bombers are not the only 2 clubs doing naughty things in the past. Would not surprise me if another 3-4 clubs were also found out over the next 12-16 months.

Essendon didn't cheat. sure it was borderline what they used but was not illegal from what news has come out so far. So using the c word is wrong for now.

A TIGHT-LIPPED Essendon has asked the AFL and Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) to investigate concerns about supplements used by Bombers players last season.

Essendon president David Evans told a press conference at AFL House on Tuesday afternoon that the Bombers had received information in the past two days raising concerns about the supplements.

Evans said the Bombers had contacted the AFL and ASADA on Tuesday to launch an immediate joint investigation.

hell

as far as we know, there is no 'dobbing' in yet. the only thing we know a former player did is say

which is just such a non issue
