Evans goes to AFL to get it what is probably a non-issue sorted.
Info leaks from AFL to a journo.
Journo phones de-listed Dons player and gets a nothing quote.
ESSENDON ARE DRUG CHEATS.
Hope for your guys sake you are right...we thought this about our #4 :( sadly, the AFC were wrong!

Anyone else wanna smack around that turd reimers? What's he seriously get out of opening his mouth ? He still upset that we cut him and that no other AFL club wanting him?

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority has called on potential witnesses to the Essendon supplement scandal to come forward.

"Following a conversation with the Essendon Football Club CEO, ASADA's CEO Aurora Andruska can confirm that ASADA has commenced an investigation into the matters raised at Essendon," the spokesperson said.

Sorry if this is obvious to everyone else but what is the 'disturbing information' that has surfaced in the last 24 to 48 hours that has prompted Evans and co. to call for the investigation?

Maybe the supplements they thought were legal actually aren't? Or maybe we used illegal doses of legal supplements? Or maybe the sports science department just flat out lied and gave our players illegal substances without the coaches knowing? There are a lot of possibilities, and we probably won't find out for a while.

I am seriously worried... 2013 was promising so much...

When they ban us for the season. Do we send our boys over to colarado for the next 12 months to train at altitude?

We should be able to push the limits there! Be right on the edge, they won't find us!

Like Taliban in the Afghanistan mountains!

Well thats what I would have suspected but if that's the case then aren't we in deep sh!t?

Reimers hasn't said anything particularly bad just let the guy be.

He has broken laws about speaking publicly about an investigation that he is involved with.

That will be coming back to bite his ass!

On 3AW just now, Gerard Healey claims he was contacted by an Olympic physician 12 months ago who said "Essendon officials" were making inquiries at a Gold Coast sports medicine convention about GHRP-6.

Am I the only one that isn't actually worried?

I almost find it amusing. Surely if the entire list were taking a banned substance at least 1 player would have tested positive at some stage.

Only thing that will come into question is the moral side of things.

True that. Although how do we know that one hasn't tested positive?

Moral should be shot now... Was such a promising year... Goddard, JD... Everything seemed to be going the right way...

Because that player would have received an automatic 12 month ban and the AFL would have opened an investigation.

I've competed in a sport subject to ASADA testing. Let it be known that you can return a positive test for taking over the counter supplements during competition with the very same supplements being legal during training. I've seen guys get a 12 month holiday for things like that and these are over the counter supplements (i.e. health food store). I suppose what I'm saying, it could be something as "innocent" as this (noting the onus is always on the athlete to ensure whatever they take is above board). Be interesting to see how this pans out. As a side note, as much as I like to ham it up on the Bay when it comes to Essendon, I hope this is a storm in a teacup scenario.

But those Collingwood players didn't get a ban...?

PED get automatic ban, illicit drugs are part of the 3 strike policy.

Looking at the ASADA web site, GHRP-6 is banned - it's not approved for "human use" in Australia.

If a player had tested positive to a banned substance, they would have been outed. It's not the same as recreational drugs with the 3 strikes is it???

Correct. Testing positive to a PED incurs automatic strife. No 3 strikes. It is hard for me to fathom that if we where systematically doping our players with an illegal substance, not 1 failed a drug test, it would have been revelealed by now. And I find it extremely hard to believeofficial with the integrity of James Hird, David Evans and co would even flirt with the idea of using them, even if there is an acceptable level.

All I can say is I hope this is wrong, wow just wow. After we refused to draft a kid for drinking habits for something like this to happen...speechless.
