The same thing was used between Manly & Essendon so how can it be legal for Manly and not for Essendon? the same sports scientist was at both clubs. What you said makes zero sense

Because at Manly they got the relevant authority (ASADA) to approve of the injections.
At Essendon for some reason or another they didn't. If Essendon had then there wouldn't be an investigation because ASADA would already know everything.

At the very best there was a break down of procedures at the the club.

Oh my! Manly are gone!

Former @manlyseaeagles skipper Matt Orford reveals he WAS injected with calves blood to treat groin injury AFTER the 2008 grand final #NRL

I believe it was prohibited from 2010 onwards so they should have no problem. Certain I read 2010 somewhere but maybe that was the AFL's decision.

McVeigh slams Reimers on SEN

  • Says that the "waver" form is just a consent form,
  • That Reimers never turned up to pre season training in any shape,
  • That he most likely was asleep during the explanation of what was happening
  • That Reimers is just a disgruntled ex player.

Had a good chuckle at this one.

  • The players did go offsite for injections, due to being a "sterile" environment.
  • Spike was only given Vitamin C and Vitamin B injections.
  • Doc Reid was in the room and explained the consent forms, telling players and coaches that all the supplements that were being given to the players had been checked against the WADA code and were signed off as being legal.

- Also that the 'offsite injecting' was simply a sterile environment to administer injections as football clubs are "filthy places". He said he had received vitamin C injections when sick a few times, as well as a few other players.

He also said that being "taken away for injections" is common. They were always taken to a sterile environment to get vitamin injections, nothing more to it.

but, but,but da media said it was secret...SECRET!!!!!

Yep, i'm at stage anger.

That was a seriously good interview.

The only possible flaw I can see in it is he can't guarantee what was going into other players.

But if I were to take McVeigh at his word (and Spike's always been pretty upfront) then, well, Reimers makes McLean look like a fine and upstanding citizen.
