Who gives a shit donsman if what spike is saying is true, then reimers is a disgruntled ex player and has clearly spoken crap and lies to the media to hang shit on his ex club, he deserved what spike dished up to him
This is what I hate about the double standards of some in the AFL. Junior McDonald said the same about the tanking stuff and McLean, and yet noone listened to him.

Yeah and if players signed consent form under the understanding that it was approved by WADA etc and then they were injected with something else then ASADA can't really blame the players.
It would then be a criminal inquiry.

Players would have to be innocent. Club would cope some fines and some people will be in gaol.

Other than the initial report I haven't read anything on this as it's just far more useful to wait until actual facts come out, but (and it's a massive hypothetical): if Essendon FC was to be found guilty and banned from competition as an entity for 2 years, would it cause a breach of the 5 year broadcast deal (no way you could a new team up and running for 2013) and would that cause the deal to null and void with AFL having to re-negotiate?

Extremely unlikely, but would be a very interesting situation

Just missed the interview, but figured I’d be able to get all I need to know in here.

While what McVeigh is saying is encouraging; I’d hope for the Clubs sake he knows what he is talking about, last thing you want to do is attack the character of someone who is possibly involved which may then push him to reveal further facts about what has happened.

Tread carefully

Yeah I dont disagree, it just makes McVeigh's interview look a bit unprofessional.
I don't think so, it's how interviews should be, raw honest and unscripted. He was passionate there and that's why I believe him. It's also exactly how he feels about reimers a bloke that has just slagged on his former club with nonsense that now seems to be untrue.

Go dons.

Spike is a passionate Essendon man and would be gutted (like us) over what's happened to his club in the last 24 hours. It's not surprising he fired up and went in guns blazing.

Still nothing on the Age or HS websites about the Spike interview, probably because it goes against the histeria of what they are reporting...

Give 'em some time, it's only been 30mins and it's deadline time around about now anyway.

They managed to get a lot of other info out in this time frame...

We need this guy to promote

McVeigh vs Reimers

would be a sellout and McVeigh can earn a bit of cash.

I think they would have had a whiff already; they probably were prepped for the presser yesterday and could almost write in then and there in the room.

And while some of the articles i've read today about Dank's contact with doctors are completely negative.

The age gives a totally different aspect to those:

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/essend...bout-hormones-doctor-says-20130206-2dyet.html

"He then asked me would I be happy to look at the blood results from the players, and I did," Willcourt said.
"I made comments along the way: 'This guy's testosterone really sucks, he is going to get hurt, this guy's growth hormone is really low, it is not going to repair itself when he gets injured'.
"We went down the list of the various players. But I never got to see the players.
"We had a discussion about what we could or couldn't do and one of the things that we couldn't do was use peptides, we couldn't do testosterone, we couldn't do growth hormone, and there was a lot of hand-wringing going on about how we could make these guys healthy without violating the rules. There isn't an answer to that one.
"Could Steve Dank have been doing things I don't know about? Yes. But I am not accusing him of doing anything. I have no proof.
"He came over here and acted very concerned when he realised there was nothing we could do."

Well, it has been an hour and a half now and only the AFL website has written about what McVeigh had to say. The HS and The Age haven't written about it, and I honestly think it is because it balances the reports towards innocence... Anyway, hopefully this calms the waters until the TRUTH comes out... What ever that is.

Our mate Callum Twomey on AFL.com makes sure both sides of the story are told.
