those are silly odds when you consider how close the polls are and they have a margin of error.

$4.80 in a two horse race is stupid.

Especially with Howards mate Packer being such a huge better and coming out yesterday and saying how wonderful he is.

Lib-NP $1.14
ALP $5.00
This is good news and represents a slim chance for the ALP. I'm hoping that Lib voters and many of the undecideds become apathetic, with the Coalition being such clear favourites. All the papers (90% right-wing) are reporting a clear Coalition win. Ironically, their bias will help the ALP vote. This is why Howard is trying to play it up as 50:50 and line ball.

Now, now, they are not biased, they are very conservative.

Interesting.... are any votes counted before 6pm?
Don't think so.

Tassie are one hour ahead, but I don't think that's what you meant.

Sounds like all the money is coming in for the Coalition.

No, I worked as OIC of a polling place in the last Fed election. Ballot boxes are all opened at the end of voting. Same time basically for all polling places.

Thanks Hoss and Dave. I thought maybe that might have something to do with these odds after 9am but it could be due to exit polls or just big spenders getting on at the last minute

When do the markets close? Obviously not at the start of voting.
Betfair has suspended its markets thats also why i thought people might have started counting and become privvy to whats happening in key seats.
