Arsenal get away with it with their set pieces. I’m sure there’d have been very similar frustrating results for them if we pegged the set piece goals back to a normal level.
You know Chelsea have the second most set piece goals, right?

The set pieces are how we deal with a low block.Arsenal get away with it with their set pieces. I’m sure there’d have been very similar frustrating results for them if we pegged the set piece goals back to a normal level.
They won, so it worked. Why does it matter what they’re worth? They’re all good enough to be playing PL football.
Having 11 bodies in the way would be a tough ask for prime Barcelona, let alone a rotated Chelsea side.
It’s just ridiculously negative at home. Starting in a 532, parking everyone centrally then playing long balls to the two strikers.

Are you serious? We had more shots. XG was 2.62 v 1.11 - you’re taking the piss.Sunderland at least try to play. Which I respect big time from a newly promoted side. Can’t say the same for Leeds. Scored an early set piece then dropped anchor and clogged the middle
And my issue is needing this in the first place. The set pieces are how we deal with a low block.
Instead of sitting on our hands and complaining about other teams doing it, we've found a way to counter it.
Shots mean very little in a game like this. You’re always going to have more opportunities after an early lead because Chelsea need to force the issue. Are you serious? We had more shots. XG was 2.62 v 1.11 - you’re taking the piss.
Used the same formation second half against City and outscored them 2-1 for the half.
Winning 3-1 when you're looking for a draw is quite the achievementDoesn’t change the fact you went into a game at home looking for a draw from the first minute.
Of course it worked. When an opponent sets up like that you’re basically resigned to a 1-0 win from some individual brilliance or hoping for an early goal to open the game up.They won, so it worked.
Really weird hill to die on.Of course it worked. When an opponent sets up like that you’re basically resigned to a 1-0 win from some individual brilliance or hoping for an early goal to open the game up.
If neither of those happen it doesn’t really matter who you are.
People complain that money has ruined the PL but I think the introduction of these tactics has. Not many other leagues in the world play like this.
Go watch the Bundesliga or Serie A and teams actually have a crack far more regularly.Really weird hill to die on.
Low blocks are not a new thing and are used all around the world.
And this is not the first time this season you've carried on about the other team 'playing for a draw' when they've been more attacking than you.
Jose Mourinho won multiple titles in multiple countries by sitting deep and hitting teams on the counter. As did Leicester City.
I'm sure Chelsea fans didn't have an issue with it.Jose was also universally hated for the way he won those titles in the mid 2000s so not sure that’s a great example.
And did you celebrate those titles?Go watch the Bundesliga or Serie A and teams actually have a crack far more regularly.

Don't botherIncorrect. Invariably when Liverpool have really struggled the past 8 seasons, Van Dijk has been underwhelming (2 seasons) or missing (1 season). The other 5 he's been excellent.
lol what game were you watching?Talking about the Chelsea Leeds game lmao.
Can’t believe teams still come out like that at home.
I get wanting a result against a better side but you’ve walked out there with a clear plan to not play any football unless the opposition makes a mistake.

I don't think you watched the game. We created four good chances in the first 5 mins before the first goal. Match reports are saying e dominated first half. Even after half hour it was 6 shots to 1. Love coming up against sides who have no interest in playing football. Score an early goal then stack numbers in the middle and counter. As well as faking injuries 25 minutes in
Ridiculously negative tactics, you’re a premier league side playing at home ffs
lol what game were you watching?

Don't think I've ever seen old mate give credit to the oppositionScored two goals from pressing all the way up to your keeper, kind of ridiculous posting tbh.
Fair play to Chiesa, he looks like a great defensive player. I didnt think he would close Isidor down in a 1 on 1 duel with this head start.
