Bloody brilliant effort by our boys!
BOG would have to be Fletcher who had 28 touches playing at CHB.
Davey and Jetta played very well on debut, with Jetta kicking his first goal in league football. Both players were super quick around the field but especially in the forward 50, their tackling and pressure caused numerous fumbles and mistakes from the opposition backline resulting in goals to our dangerous forwards.
Lucas kicked 7 and could of had more if not for his unselfish play. Lloyd played up the ground and found plenty of the ball while also kicking two goals.
PLaesing signs by the boys and let's continue it on when we come face to face with Fremantle at the dome next week.

absoutley great today boys and really enjoyed the game. the thing i got so excited about was our pace and pressure that we put on adelaide. i have not seen the Essendon footy club play with that intestity for quite some time

Could not ask for a better start.

Winderlich and Ryder both played their best game for the club.

Lucas showed why he is the most underrated forward in the competition. But the best part, for me, was the tackling and harassing. Adelaide didn't get too many easy kicks today. I'm sure I'm not alone as someone who marked this game down as a loss when the draw was released.

Winders seemed to step up and take responsibility.
Great game.
Bradley... Absolute shocker.

yeh what are we going to do about Bradley his skills just seem to let him down but hopfully he can come through. the thing that disapoints me is we picked him up a number 5. does anyone no how gummby preseason went i have heard not much about it and for a number 2 pick the media usually get involved in players update for early draft players

played in the reserves and he did some good things, kicked a goal but dropped some very easy grabs.
Like all great players, he will take some time to develop.
Promising signs however.

Bendigo - 17.9 111
Frankston - 17.11 113

Bolton played pretty well in the first half.
Chartres played very well.
Dyson was quiet early before going into the middle and getting some contested ball. Played well in the second half.
Heff and Campo were very quiet.
Hocking and Houli played supurbly, Hocking BOG in the first half, he also had very good hands.
Thanks Ant for the info.
And...
Neagle played wonderfully well at FF kicking 5 goals and giving off a few more.

Ok pin point all the shocking things Bradley did ?
I only counted one , please do fill me in on the rest. Seems to me that the only way Bradley will ever get a break from some people is if he turns into Wayne Carey:eek:

Ok to be fair, his first half was a shocker.
Missed marks, rushed kicks that resulted in turnovers, sloppy handballs that didnt hit the target, slow over the ground at times.
Second half was an improvement though.

**** yeah! Superb effort. The most composed/professional we've looked in a long time.

Got to say my heart rate doubles when Bradley and Watson are forced to kick the footy. Make Pev look like Darren Jarman at times.

I don't think he looked slow at all.

His biggest problem is he consistently tries to dispose of the ball while his momentum is moving backwards. If he rids himself of that he'll improve his disposal significantly. When he kicks long he looks a lot better, he's a good long kick of the footy.

Spot on, he was quite slow in the first half i thought. His opponent gave him a beating in the first half.

You have no idea what you are talking about. He played a reasonable game.

Got put under pressure due to poor disposal by others.

Jobe is the worry. His disposal was terrible today.

Jobe's kicking was poor but he had a few crucial handballs in and under whilst under pressure that set up his team mates...
Rather Jobe's game than Kep's

Im willing to accept that Jobe isnt a terribly great kick of the footy, but he sure possess a great footy brain. Seems to be able to think one step ahead before the ball is in his hands.

I agree with Charliebrow 16, Bradley was not good today...
I expect alot more from him, he was drafted to play CHB and I dont see him as a CHB to give away Jacobs for him is/was a bad mistake today he had alot of turnovers and put players under pressure, the only reason the guy gets a game is because of his height

WOOOOOOO!!! thanks for the commentary lads!! caught bits of the 1st half on SEN...not a bad call....

what i gather:

1/ Lucas is by far the most underated forward in the comp....dominated last year....yet still doesnt get the respect he deserves me thinks! with lloydy taking the 1st dfender my lips are moist thinking of how potent our attack could be!!!

2/ davey and jetta impressed

3/ stanton is evolvoing into a fine footballer! also taken by the progression made by winderlich...

4/ ryder is not a dud

5/ i like welsh as a forward....nice agression in there....

6/ aami stadium hoodoo....what hoodooo?

7/ as excited as i am....i was estatic after we beat the swans last year....lets try and get that 2nd win soon or ill get nervous....we will have to battle against an angry freo mob next week....
