Yep, only Essendon supporters seem to like other clubs players.

Haha, you chaps still can't grasp the concept of poaching.

Notice people in that thread talking about what fair compensation they can offer the Saints.

Now look at some threads from trade week last year where Essendon supporters where fantasizing about how they could get Brennan off us for nothing in the PSD.

How can people honestly not know the difference?

There are some very slow Essendon supporters on this thread.

If we all were as sharp as you warwick then the world would be a dull place.

Being overseas for 4 years from 2000 to 2004 caused me to miss out on a few developements. My only mistake was i didn't do the research but perhaps your majesty could forgive.

Again with the generalising of fans, I know in your smug world you seem to class all supporters as a whole but let's leave that out shall we?

We want Risha, we are not expecting to get him for free and i'm not going to get into trade talk as it's not my thing. The fact remains, you lot are getting upset because we play the come home factor when you are doing the exact same thing with Armitage. It just seems that what's good for the goose isn't good for the gander with you lot.

Regarding Brennan, from memory our supporters were talking PSD as Brisbane were not willing to trade because of the whole Mal saga. I'm sure there were some who got nasty about it all, but all clubs have those supporters.

Anyway, as reported Risha is expected to sign this week so that's the end of this subject for me.

This rumour comes up everytime he comes out of contract and no doubt will continue to.

Scott Lucas to Geelong also comes up everytime.

I don't know what's worse, the media publishing it or this thread.

Sorry, what's wrong with supporters wanting to improve their list and do it as "cheaply" as possible?

Why would we not want to get Brennan in the PSD if we couldn't?

Sorry to ruin your self-righteous rant, but I didn't generalise supporters.

I said that "Essendon supporters were...", I didn't say "All Essendon supporters...".

Try not to be so precious sweetheart.

What happened to leaving out supporter generalisations:confused:

Anyway the argument that because our supporters discuss possible trades Essendon are justified in poaching our players is rather silly.

Whinge and win - something that The Collingwood and Essendon clubs led the Victorian clubs at by far in the constant howl that led to the removal of the retention allowance with the phrase level playing field being used often

At least Freo know about Warnock wanting to play in Melbourne and have a chance to get something in return in trade week - unlike Brisbane, getting Zero for Shane O'Bree who was taken by Collingwood with the number 1 pick in the 1999 Pre Season Draft despite the retention allowance

Brisbane and Sydney are at a distinct disadvantage when the poaching and "wanna go home" factors come into play,as are the WA & SA clubs(but not as much as there are 2 clubs in Adelaide and Perth and stronger local clubs when recruiting)

Not surprising that there are irritated comments on this forum by Lion's supporters with the Michael "post retirement" recruitment and the apparent big move on Brennan in recent years clearly remembered, when another reported big offer from Essendon is made for an out of contract player

10 Salary Caps v one - level playing field.....ha!

Its the situation that was ****ed up, not the result. ;)
True, but I think Collingwood should be feeling harder done by than Brisbane in that situation. I think I can kick better than O'Bree. At least my kicks don't go higher than they do long. I get what the dude was getting at though, I just felt like unleashing on O'Bree momentarily

Anyway, it isn't like Victorian clubs are never ripped off by go home factors either. Collingwood were held to ransom big time by Nick Davis, for example.

Yeah, fair enough. We're just waiting for the day that the go-home factor sends one our way.

Channel 7 News in Brisbane tonight had this story in its Sport report.

"7 News understands the Lions have agreed to terms with Michael Rischitelli. The talented midfielder was being chased by the Bombers. The club is also close to a new deal with co-captain Simon Black".

go on bugger off champ....essendon have always raided other clubs...and your are still crap

That is a ridiculous statement. Raiding teams is not what Essendon do (to my frustraition watching collingwood, north and carlton do it for years). Since when has essendon poached a big name player? Let alone an up and coming player? Sheedy was known to find discards and turn them into players and in fact Sheedy once stated he refused to feed off the carcass of the Fitzroy FC.

Now lets not get high and mighty about clubs poaching off the poor lions, your club was built on poached players. A lot came from the Fitzroy FC lets not forget.
Your history was headed up by an Sydney poser in tight shorts (POACHED) and an Essendon star hardman in his prime, Roger Merrett (POACHED) Some have short fricken memories, and some weren't born to know better.

Good that we are getting these blokes locked away before trade week for a change.

Maybe this year wont be as stressful as last year.

Who else is out of contract?

Patfull and Macdonald are the next two big ones to tie up.

Things are taking shape but I remember last year when I commented on the fact we were looking at a much easier trade period than the previous year (06). It turns out, last year was twice as bad.

There are a couple of clubs that have 1 or 2 players left to sign. We still have a bunch so i'm not resting easy until we lock them away.
