I think Pies will struggle in the next few years. Possibly finishing between 13-16 next year. Bombers, i hope to finish between 8-10.

You then say we are like Carlton, we are in a way. Both sides have futures and 16 flags. Dont mention bringing up these 'old hacks' because over the last few years we have brought in as many kids as any side in the AFL. And Mal Michael will be a big bonus, not a hack at all.

Yeah, gives us just the amout of time to get Andrew Lee ready for the AFL instead of throwing him in and losing confidence ala Zac Dawson. You would have happily takin Michael, not only is he a good Full Back his presence gives the rest of the backline confidence in running off and creating play. Mal Michael recruit is already looking good.

The sad thing about people like you is that you actually believe they were drafted to play for Essendon in the long term.

BTW Michael is 29, younger than Clement. He's a very good defender and will strengthen our defense dramatically this year. Takes a big weight off Fletcher's back. Good luck to Rocca on Anzac Day.

Having guys like Campo and Michael in the side will help guide the dozen or so youngsters we've drafted in the last couple of years. Having them in the side also means we aren't throwing certain kids straight into the deep end and having their confidence shot to pieces. But hey, what would Kevin Sheedy know?

all of those players were serviceable & played in a grand final except for Mcgough, but to see him as a 17 year old destroy your team on ANzac day was worth the pick
