So proud of what Piastri has done so far this year, was concerned after the first few races that he hadn’t come to terms with his tyre wear issues but has slowly built since then and has looked very good lately, is now starting to show that precision that was such a strength in F3 & F2 and bar that one mistake in the last race has been cm perfect. Beware the rampaging Aussie because he is coming for an F1 title very soon.
As soon as 2025, got norris covered above the shoulders once he matches on every track its gg

Now most of this is just Helmut Marko stirring the pot, but it is interesting that Lando's biggest weakness as a driver (his handling of pressure) is Oscar's biggest strength as a driver (his coolness under pressure)

Its accurate though, norris gets into good positions and makes mistakes time and time again oscar is the better bet in anything but a dominate car.

Absolutely stirring the pot.
The salt displayed by Norris last week shows a small fracture in the driver/team relationship.
Why wouldn’t an opponent, who now consider you a genuine threat to their dominance, have a go at making that crack into a canyon?

The funny thing is that for all the talk of McLaren being the quickest car at the moment, Merc have won 3 out of the last 4 races. Lewis due to Russell's DQ is now the only driver other than Max to have multiple victories this season. If George didn't get DQd then he would be on multiple wins instead of Lewis.

Which says how badly the McLaren team wall have ****ed up. They really have been having pasta gun moments on a weekly basis, costing their drivers wins on a regular basis.

Pour one out for old mate. From a race winning car to that shitbox
Was the best option really out of the available seats

Haas are trash
Alpine are going nowhere fast
Sauber/Audi are currently the worst car on the grid and I don’t see Audi being competitive straight off the bat.

At least Williams seems to have a plan, Vowles is a shrewd operator and had to rebuild the teams processes from the ground up. Also if the deal is like it was originally rumoured to be with a get out clause for Sainz at the end of 2026, it’s probably the best option he had

Albon and Sainz is a strong driver pairing

Red Bull choosing to kiss the constructors good bye to keep the Mexican fans happy? Unless they can turn that car around post break somehow it is very very hard to see the current line up winning it from here.

Alpine went from driving a truck to competing for points

Checo must be bringing in a shed load of sponsorship $$$ if they are willing to throw away the Constructors Championship to keep him. This is F1, and money trumps everything, or so it seems.

Yeah he is backed by some huge companies, I just didn’t think it would be enough. If he can’t get given the flick now then hard to see it happening at the end of the year either.

Confirmed Drivers for 2025:

Red Bull: Verstappen, Perez ($$$$ talks)
McLaren: Norris, Piastri
Ferrari: Hamilton, LeClerc
Mercedes: Russell
Aston Martin: Stroll, Alonso
VCARB: Tsunoda
Haas: Ocon, Bearman
Williams: Sainz, Albon
Alpine: Gasly
Sauber: Hulkenberg

That leaves 4 seats unconfirmed, with the following drivers still uncontracted for 2025:
  • Ricciardo
  • Magnussen
  • Sargeant
  • Guanyu
  • Bottas
Antonelli has been heavily linked to the Mercedes seat, and the option of sending him to Williams is now gone - so I think we can pencil this one in (though not in ink).

There's every indication that VCARB want Lawson in the 2nd seat, which means Ricciardo needs to find a new home, given that Perez' $$$$ have spoken and the Red Bull seat is not up for grabs.

That leaves seats at Alpine & Sauber...

With Sainz making his decision yesterday, we can expect the rest of the dominos to fall fairly quickly.

Is Guanyu producing a whole lot of $$$'s for Sauber? He'd be in trouble otherwise.
I imagine he's got a fair amount of support being the only Chinese driver on the grid
