I couldn't be happier with the draw.
It gives our players the chance to take on the #1 team in the country on our own turf in front of 32,000 people with nothing to lose before allowing them to concentrate on the league.
With only 22 of the 46 league games completed and promotion to play for it's going to be a crazy few months ahead.
The only possible negative would be that the build-up to the game could take the focus off our league campaign but I think the excitement will make up for that. Adkins is a very good manager and the signing of Chaplow and the re-signing of Adam Lallana has topped off a pretty decent start to the new year.
Hopefully we'll have Hammond & Lallana fit for the tie with N'Guessan eligible for his first appearance for Saints. The vultures will no doubt be looking over the form of Oxlade-Chamberlain against Premier opposition and it will be interesting to see how he handles the pressure. Nigel is adamant he'll be staying, but we'll have to wait and see, I guess (it still guts me seeing Theo running around with the Gooners & Bale at White Hart Pain!). Nonetheless, exciting times at St Mary's and would love to put Manure out of the Cup. Promotion is obviously the focus, but knocking over Fergie's bunch of arrogant prima donna's will be a nice appertif. Come on you Reds!!!
